How do I build a barbeque from scratch?
Jun 03, 2006 by BobbysGran | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
I want to build an old fashioned summer kitchen with a barbeque, sink and possibly a brick oven. I've got the knowledge for the plumbing and oven, but have no idea where to start with the barbeque.
The "smokering" is the starting place for all things barbeque. It links to hundreds of related websites that offer just about any information you need on this subject. Have fun exploring at:

Good luck with your project.

I have a lot of bricks, after demolishing this old barbeque we built. And I want to put them to good use.?
Jul 10, 2008 by Diego P | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
So. There's a bunch of standard red bricks around, after making room for the future pond. I have no idea what I'm going to do with them. I want to put them to use, for some exterior house design. Or maybe for the pond. You know, something along those lines. I just want to use them somehow.
Any suggestions.
If you dig a trench about 4" deep and the width of the brick, you can lay the brick on their ends at a angle and create a nice border. Fill in and pack the dirt and you now have something very nice.
For a extra nice touch, stand every tenth or twelfth brick straight vertical and cut the brick on either side to flush up to the vertical brick then change direction of the angle as you go.

Homemade barbeque grill... next summer I want to build my own?

any tips on how to build a barbeque pit from bricks or cinderblocks?
Use fire rated bricks, and mortar. You have plenty of time to research exact plans. Have you considered adding a pizza oven? I've read several articles lately, and they seem to be in vogue. Make sure your foundation is good, and it should last a lifetime.
I'm kinda jealous, but I just built a huge shop, no more projects for a while.
