How do I go about estimating an exterior caulking job?

I am a painter and have painted a bunch of townhomes in a new subdivision. I have been asked to submit an estimate for the contract of caulking the exterior.
I usually charge $0.25/LF, the cost of the material, and my markup which varies from 15-55% depending on the job.

If you're a painter then you have had experience caulking. Calculate how far a tube goes for your material cost and estimate your time times your hourly rate.
My painter charges me $45. per hour plus materials.

What is the best exterior caulk for cedar?

I have two cedar sided bay windows which has several outside angled butt joints. I am having difficulty filling the gaps that have developed where the cedar boards meet. Last year I used OSI Professional Quad caulk and it failed to do the job. It is so thick that it is difficult to get the product very far into the joints. Over the seasons the expansion and contraction of the wood causes the caulk to split and a new gap appears. My aluminum windows are caulked to the cedar with an apparent rubber based caulk and they hold up fine even after 17 years. I am considering going to a similar product but need advice as to manufacturer. Help.
The people who sell cedar siding sell the OSI caulk line to seal joints on cedar. There is one other product that might be of use, try a product call Vulkum, not sure on correct spelling.

How to get exterior caulk cleaned?

The house we recently moved into had vinyl siding installed 10 yrs +/- ago. The installers caulked around the windows and doors (white caulk) and now the caulk is looking really bad in many places. It has dark spots and large dark areas, like maybe it's dirty or maybe it's mold or maybe something else. I've tried bleach and pressure washing it and those helped but still looks bad. I didn't want to scrub it too hard because I didn't want to damage it. It would take a very long time to clean it all out and re-caulk, so I was hoping someone could tell me how I can get it clean.
try C.L.R. or sno-bol toilet cleaner it works really good on stains
its for toilets and does have a type of acid in it so be careful

How to remove caulk from exterior stucco?

The caulk that I used was old. It did not harden. It is the consistency of frosting. The caulk is almost greasy. It is an exterior window on stucco. I have scraped most of it off, but I'm afraid that I will not get it clean enough to reapply new caulk.
