How do I get sap ( from a pine tree) off my ceiling without ruining the paint or making it look worse?
Sep 05, 2006 by Nicole T | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
Ceiling paint is different from wall paint in that it lacks a hard finish. If you rub it, it feels chalky. That is the pigment, exposed. Ceiling paint has a higher ratio of pigment to fixative than wall paints. That is because the manufacturers have determined that improved coverage is more important than better washability. Depending on the quality of the paint that was used, you may find it virtually impossible to wash the ceiling without some marking.

If there is not a lot try flicking it of with your fingernail. This year buy a shorter Christmas tree to avoid the same problem.

I believe that turpentine will work (it's a solvent derived from pine sap). I can't be sure though...try on a small spot.

Why would anyone hang a christmas tree from the ceiling?(Cat Related)?
Dec 21, 2007 by ஐ♥Julian'sMommy♥ஐ | Posted in Cats
I just think this is a stupid idea. My mother-in-law keeps telling me to do this cause my cat broke my christmas tree down by laying in it i guess all weekend while i was away taking care of my sick mom.
I figured it would be a waste to buy another one cause i know it would do the same to a new one.
I figure by next christmas the cat will be grown and not bother a tree.
Wow, I've never heard of that. That seems odd..... but I guess it would work. Interesting. Does anybody have a picture of their tree bolted to the ceiling??? I'd love to see that.
My cats don't bother our tree too much anymore. When our little guy was a kitten he would climb all up inside it and walk around in it, but now he's a bit larger and stays on the ground.

I have seen it once and it was gorgeous. Anyone know?
I am guessing either a Ficus or a money tree.

Sometimes in classrooms there will be a tree made from paper in the corner. I would like to add on to a room but cannot find any instructions on how to do so.
I have an 8 1/2 foot ceiling, I want an indoor tree. Will that be possible? (details)?

It will be able to recieve lots of light because I have a double hung window that faces west. I just need to know what kind of tree would suit my height requirement and a ball park estimate of the cost. thanks.
A ficus tree... about $100-$150, depending on size.
There's also a patio with an outdoor hot tub and fireplace, skylit indoor gardens, and floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto a nearby lake … a lovely view that comes courtesy of all those down trees on the property. Check it out in the video,

Product Description
Mr. Willowby's Christmas tree Came by distinctive delivery. Full and fresh and glistening green-- The biggest tree he'd ever seen.
That was the in hot water. The tree was so tall, it couldn't stand up straight in his parlor. Mr. Willowby asked his butler to chop off the top of the tree. What happens to the treetop? Where will it be for Christmas? Cuddle up with this story and follow along through a forest full of friendly creatures who get to interest in a bit of Christmas joy.
Mr. Willowby, the unwitting celebrity of this Christmas classic, looks quite a bit like the little mustachioed mascot from Monopoly. But as befits a Yuletide falsehood, this diminutive millionaire turns out to be a good bit more full.
The Christmas tree in question shows up at Mr. Willowby's to the quick by special order, aboard a big pink social relations: "Full and fresh and glistening green--The biggest tree he had ever seen." But it's straight a little too big, so he asks his butler, Baxter, to rickrack off the top few feet that brush up against the parlor ceiling. Baxter realizes that this snipped-off top would pass a perfect little tree for "Miss Adelaide, Mr. Willowby's upstairs domestic." But she, too, must clip off the top of her tree... which then ends up with Timm, the gardener. Timm's trimming goes on to Barnaby Spawn, the tippy-top of Barnaby's tree ends up with Frisky Fox and people, and then Benjamin Rabbit finds the top few inches that Mrs. Fox snipped off. And so it goes, until eventually the whole countryside learns that it's simply "grand to have a tree--Perfectly like Mr. Willowby."
There's many a lesson to be taken from this report, about recycling and supply-side economics just for starters. But the bright illustrations of Robert Barry ensure that you'll have fun proper watching as the ever-tinier tree gets passed on to ever-tinier families. (Ages 5 to 8) --Paul Hughes
