Has anyone decoupaged on a tile to use as a trivet?

I am worried about how to seal it and protect it from the heat or if it is even possible. I'd like to decoupage a picture onto a ceramic tile for a gift...
I've just used painted tiles. Never decoupaged.Maybe if you used a heat resistant poly- urethane it would work.Please let meknow this sounds cool!!

You would have to finish the tile with some sort of resin product. i used to use one years ago, but they took it off the market. Resin dries hard and clear, I used it to seal a coffee table. Should be resistant enough for tiles/trivits. Local craft store or do it yourself place should supply resin products.

Maybe decoupage some coasters instead. Then you only have to worry about water, not heat.

How can I clean a cork trivet?

I purchased a trivet in Portugal made of cork and ceramic tile. The cork part has gotten dust soiled and dirty over the years. How can I clean that and make it look nice and new again???
a cork trivet? dude...you really need to watch your language. GOD! how many times we have 2go thru this? jeez

Actually, I believe it's a trivet. A friend of mine broke hers last night and says that they haven't been around sinces the 1970-1980s and that it is therefore impossible to replace.
Unfortuanatly, she threw the pieces away and I wasn't able to recover all of them (still trying, but it looks hopeless). It was a gift from her husband back when they had just gotten married and had her name on it.
I've tried e-bay and other sites, but nothing comes close to it. Is there maybe a site I'm not seeing or a way to find someone who will custom make one?
I would suggest someone like Decor Tile out of FLorida ,or Jovin TIle Decorators out of Long ISland NY,you can also try Stone Impressions (although they usually only silk screen onto stone.
Stone Age muras (DBA Excel )l in NJ silk screens your logo/print onto either ceramic tile and/or tumbled stone.
