i am looking for a discontinued ceramic tile. i need 175 square feet of an Italian porcelain tile?
Jun 24, 2008 by Jeffery L | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
this is an italian porcelain tile from castelvetro. the color is CFE 350 eraclea rosa. we purchases this tile in 2003, and need more square ft to do a remodel or we will have to tear up and replace 160 square ft. any help would be appreciated.
We have gone to Dal Tile to replace broken tiles from the early 1950's. Hopefully there is one in your area.

Cutting Ceramic Tile problem?
Mar 10, 2009 by styrckt | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
I'm using a scribe and snap fixture to cut some 12 x 12 italian ceramic tiles . The tile is not breaking along the scribe , I'm scribing as deep as I can, what am I doing wrong ? I have near 30 cuts to make.
The cutter has a small wheel like glass cutter
chicagirl , thats what I am using
If you have 30 cuts to make rather than ruin a bunch of tiles go to home depot and rent a wet tile saw. It will make it a whole lot easier.

How to grout a ceramic tile floor?
Dec 13, 2006 by Robert H | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
I'm putting down an Italian tile with great depths and rises forming a rough surface. How do I grout it without leaving half the grout in the tiles themselves
After reading all the answers, I think you got all the help you need but lets go back one step...make sure you floor is level. this might require floating the floor first but it makes a better hold for your thin set and takes a lot of pain out of grouting. after you use your sponge or rubber float packing the grout in the joint, then yes start wiping it off repeatedly with sponge and water.Do work in small areas move on and go again. after the floor is dry and I don't mean just set up but dry,a couple of day's, use a good sealer, this will help keep the grout in and clean as well as protecting it from spills and stains. good luck and happy laying :)

Where can I get wall tiles with an Italian design?
May 08, 2008 by teacherjen2004 | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
I'm planning to put a ceramic tile backsplash above my cooktop in my new kitchen, and I'd like to do something that expresses my Italian (specifically Sicilian) heritage. My countertop is brown and my floor has brown tile accents. My walls are green and my cabinets are a honey maple color.
I'd like to find tiles that can either be painted and sealed, or are already painted in a design that is Italian, if not Sicilian, in origin. Any suggestions for retailers or companies? I also don't want to spend as much on the tiles for a 30x30 inch area as I did on the countertops.
I ,You can hire an artist to do a custom design or Lowes has pre painted tile (not sure they have mural tiles)
I painted and fired my own back splash, but there are glass and tile paints(at craft and Hobby Stores)Delta air-dry perm enamel is a good one you can put a glaze over the top(also by Delta) to seal it. As far as a design find a pattern you like have it blown up to size needed then transfer pattern to tiles with transfer paper(also at craft stores) and paint(kinda of like a coloring book)just stay in the lines
