Hello.
I recently purchased a projector that uses the DIY computer monitor kind of method, and it has all been working fine but its got one little problem, it's really really noisy.
It's got 3 fans:
. one at the front which isn't a problem.
. one to circulate air between the LCD which i'm replacing with a silent computer one.
. one at the back that takes hot air from the bulb and blows it out the back, it's called a (centrifugal fan or a squirrel cage fan) and it's really loud, here's some pics to show how its placed in the projector.
These types of fans seem hard to find on the internet, so i think i'll need some kind of alternative or a muffling device. Also, i was thinking when the air comes out the exhaust and hits the plastic grills, thats making noise, so maybe i could cut the grills and that would stop some noise, but i don't really want to damage the case.
any ideas would be great?

Rusty, flaky paint and gets hot
I have purchased this 465 CFM blower fan from Hydrofarm, but the paint was flaking off and the metal was rusty after I received it in the mail. I contacted the seller, and they said Hydrofarm was going to send me a return label, but I never got it. I contacted the seller again, but no response.
Also, the motor runs very hot. I cannot leave my finger on the motor body very long before it would burn my finger. It isn't smoking hot yet, but I don't feel comfortable leaving it on if I'm not home.
I'm going to return the product to Amazon if I don't hear from the seller or manufacturer shortly.

perfect for keeping air circulating
I bought this fan in order to keep the air moving in an area of my basement where it is normally pretty still and damp. This fan works just as described, and it is relatively quiet. it was also one of the cheaper fans available.

This is a excelent blower. It produces a good flow of air while running fairly quiet. I would give it a 10/ 10 for performance, while a 8.5/10 for noise, db's.
