I am going to install an exhaust fan in the basement that has one window. I just want to air to circulate from time to time when I'm not down there. I need a timer that will turn on for 10 minutes every hour, so some such thing....even when I'm not down there. Is there a timer that will allow this?

What are you trying to get rid of? Hot air? Muss? Most fan controls work on temperature.

Who makes ceiling fan light dimmer fan timer?
Aug 31, 2007 by Frisky | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
I have a ceiling fan with light that I control from wall swtch. Does someone know of the same thing, but with timer too, so I don't leave it (fan)on all night?
Yes go to hampton bay com,You will have to get a remote control, your current fan probably wont, you would have to buy a transmitter along with the remote. The transmitter ,you would have to take yours down and tuck it in with the wires on top.I just bought a Hampton Bay fan and light with a remote control,I love it.

Are there sets of 3 bathroom switches for light, heat and fan WITH a timer?
Jan 16, 2007 by markatger | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
Our bathroom switches are grouped together as a set of 3. We don't currently have a timer for the fan, but would like to get one. Ideally we would like to avoid having to call an electrician to make changes, but just swap in a new set of 3 that has a timer for the fan.
Does this exist?
They are all mounted together though on the wall...not sure if they will fit together if bought separately
Take the wall plate off, six screws hold it on I'm guessing. Since you know which switch controls the fan all you have to do now is replace the switch with a timer purchased at your local home improvement center.
Turn off the power at the circuit breaker first and follow the instructions provided in the timer's box. It's a very easy operation and something that you don't have to have an electrician do.

Can I change the timer on my bathroom extractor fan?
Mar 14, 2009 by Neil J | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
I've got a light switch activated extractor fan in my bathroom. The fan runs for a long time after the light has been turned off and it's really annoying. Can I change the timer so that it doesn't run for so long (without electricuting myself!) ?
Thanks
Can you put a timer on a 2 speed whole house fan?
Jun 27, 2008 by robotca2003 | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
I am thinking of getting a whole house fan, but the one that is big enough for my house has a 2 speed switch, and I want to know if I can put a timer on it.
Yes you can just install the timer ahead of the two speed switch. Use a T101, you can get it at Home Depot or at Lowes.

Great little timer for the money.
Couldn't use a fancy electronic timer switch in my bathroom because I only have one white and one black wire coming into my switchbox, so this mechanical timer was the perfect solution. It controls the fan and light in my bathroom. It's easy to install, works great and seems solid enough to last for several years. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a solid mechanical wall timer switch.

Loud
This is easy to install, and comes with all the appropriate screws, including white screw for the cover plate. The plastic is a shade whiter than the standard Leviton Decora cover plate. In comparison to the Intermatic equivalent the mechanism feels of lower quality and is noticeably noisier in operation (there is a loud tick). The control knob is also larger and harder to read. Personally I would buy the Intermatic product in future as overall it feels slightly better quality, but this is adequate for most needs.
works as expected, easy to install
I've been using it for two weeks so far, can't vouch for its durability. But so far so good

Well, the Cavs are palatable, and the beginning of baseball season is looking dismal already... and I'm not theory good thoughts for my Brownies this year either. (Since Kellen Winslow, Jr was traded, I left-hand my Browns jersey out of the shot, since I'm going to be getting a new one...
I be sure I am a few days late on this, but I am still super proud of our little guy. How marvellous is it, and how lucky are we as baseball fans, to be able to see this kid from the beginning? Attraction it.
