How to stop water flowing from the bathtub faucet once the Shower faucet is in use?
Jul 11, 2008 by bigsaf | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
When I turn the tap, the water from the bathtub faucet flows which is expected. Then when I pull the tap so the water switches and flows through the shower head instead, there's still ALOT of water flowing from the bathtub faucet which is a total waste. I want all the water flowing through the shower head, not at both faucets at the same time. Can someone help me out? Thank you.
you need a new diverter bath tub spout.
Here are a few tips. Most tub spouts are held in place by a allen head screw on the bottom of the spout right next to the tile ot marble sides. You need to get a allan wrench of the correct size to remove the screw and then it will slide out easy, towards you.
If you have the kind of spout that is threaded in all you have to do is turn it counter clock wise to remove.
BEFORE you attempt any of these applications, you must turn off the water supply at the meter or hot water tank so that the mains in the home are no longer "HOT"
This is just a keep it safe action just incase somethings comes loose in the wall.
Hope this helps

How to fix bathtub faucet that cuts off water half-way through turning it on?
Jan 14, 2008 by Michael N | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
When I turn on my bathtub faucet, it allows water to start flowing. Then when I get about half-way through the turn, water stops flowing, and then if I keep turning, water starts to flow again. Any ideas on what's causing this and how to fix it? I do still get hot and cold water, although the hot water is not as strong as it is in the other shower in the house.
probably the compression washer is loose and it cutting off the supply. take the stem out and check the washer

How do you repair a leaky bathtub faucet?
Apr 09, 2008 by kachow_now | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
This is a standard faucet-everything I've seen is for repairing a leaky sink faucet (which I have done), but never a leaky bathtub faucet, and I have one that I need to repair.
Typically all modern tub/shower mixing valves are built around a removable cartridge.
They need to be removed and replaced with new.
It can be difficult and lead to other more taxing, more expensive problems.
Best to call in a professional plumber who will remove old, flush out the system and install new.
If the valve body is severly corroded then the entire unit will need replaced.

May 15, 2006 by musiconecanplay | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
The faucet on my bathtub is leaky and i need to know how to fix it. It doesnt leak all the time, but only about every hour or so. When it does it, it only last for a second-it even does it if the shower hasent been on for a day. The faucet is also loose and doesnt fit tight to the shower and when i try to tighten it, it just goes round and round and wont tighten-could this be the problem?
here's a couple of links, one for two handle faucets and one for single handle faucets. Hope it helps.

How do you change a bathtub faucet?
Mar 24, 2007 by Lady J | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
My bathtub faucet is old and leaky. I've looked online for instructions on how to remove the old one and install a new one, but I can't find any. Can anyone give me some simple directions or guide me where to find them?
Thanks!!
go to lowes and ask. a new faucet should fit right where your old one goes with no plumbing changing. Use pipe tape to seal the threads of all pipes.

Stone Bathtubs: An Alluring Idea
Some of the most attractive bathtubs I have ever seen have been stone bathtubs. From alluring granite to gorgeous marble and more, you can have your stone bathtub custom made, or order the stone bathtub you find that will change your bathroom to look just like something out of “Healthier Homes and Gardens”.
The most luxurious change I ever made in my home was a d of the decision I made to purchase a marble corner bathtub. The tub looked immense across from the sheer shower doors in the bathroom. Then, as I continued on my re-decorating tumult I got another great idea, I would replace the old sinks and counters in my bathroom with the same gracious of marble used in the tub.
There are so many beautiful options out there for you, from copper bathtubs to bathroom accessories like faucets and towels. It is fun to re-embroider your home and bathroom with stone, and to add the perfect accessories that will look titanic and create an ambiance in your home that will help you relax and unwind.
My marble bathtub looks significant, with gray towels and soft bluish-gray décor, marble descend basin and a nice silver faucet. The tub faucet I found to go with my new stone bathtub is the perfect gauge for filling the tub quickly, and has the ability to use a detachable showerhead if I ever demand it.
If I had another bathroom to re-decorate, I would put in a claw-footed standing tub, they have always seemed so non-native and alluring to me. Perhaps I would purchase one that has a curtain around it, perhaps not. I love the style so much that it would indeed be a tough choice to make.
But if granite or marble or copper in basic old tub-style is not what you want. There are the alternatives for a look more suited to your exclusive taste. For example: the stone bathtub I purchased, a corner tub with a single, almost hot tub look about it. Or, of course, the beautiful claw tub, and there are more. Stone bathtubs that sit column, oblong basin-shaped and almost like the claw tub, except for the present claws on the four feet of the tub that act as tiny legs to keep it standing in abode. ...
