Is this is good faucet?
Apr 01, 2008 by allycmw | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
I asked this question last week and got no reply, so I thought I'd take another crack at it. The Home Depot Pegasus brand - is it any good? I mean, am I going to have to replace it after a couple of years? I have been looking at the double-handle bridge faucet. Thanks
Add: I've also been looking at Price Pfister, which I've heard is along the same lines as Moen - good, but not great.
Make sure you get a faucet with a ceramic disc. Anything else wears out in a few years. (Moen products DO NOT have a ceramic disc!) The Pegasus brand does have a ceramic disc, so that's a plus. The link below shows some reviews at the Home Depot web site. I also posted that link to the Terry Love page, it's very helpful.
Note: If you have very hard water, your faucets will corrode in a few years, no matter what kind you buy.

HD has thier own brands like Glacier Bay. If Pegasus is another name they have I don't know. What I do know is that all thier brands are made in China. So you can check it on the box.
As far as a sink faucet they are ok and you get your moneys worth.
As for a shower or tub faucet I would stay away from them because of the labor in installation and later repair,,plus you probably can't get parts for these things.
On tubs and showers I would get a usa name brand---but NOT at HD- BECAUSE they sell name brands made specifically for them---thats why they are so cheap---and you can't get parts for these either---unless you are willing to wait 6 months..
In other words a KOHLER faucet at a plumbing supply house is A#1 grade and one at HD is a ''knock off''
Do you see what I'm saying??

PEGASUS IS MADE IN ITALY AND CHINA AND THEY SAY THEY MAKE PLUMBERS HAPPY(service calls)CHECK OUT terrylove.com and ask about the faucet

Does it come with a lifetime guarantee? If not buy another brand that does. A few pennies saved now could turn into dollars later. What is the old saying penny wise dollar foolish?

I agree with marvin in part, and certainly it matters what the cost is, and that you realize that two years for the price, may be fair.
Kohler and Moen make a quality product, but they cost accordingly. The issues they may have however can be more readily repaired as opposed to having to buy an entire, new Pegasus

How do you take off a Moen 7100 bridge faucet?
Jan 27, 2008 by slgraff✪✪ | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
It leaks on the top. water comes out under the handle. My dad said something about taking it apart and getting a new rubber gasketty gizmo (forgive me...I don't remember what he called it).
We both figured there were some bolts underneath holding it to the sink. But there aren't. I think I can turn something on the neck, under the handle, but I don't want to screw it up. Especially since all i can find is a pair of channel locks and i think the teeth on it are going to mess it up.
I find a chainsaw works every time!

I'm remodeling my kitchen. Very traditional look. Cannot decide on which faucet look would work. Help!!

Will the one hole, uncluttered look work, colors, granite, back splash are very bold w/lots of "personality". Or should I use the "bridge" faucet w/curved faucet that I bought already. I like the traditional look, nothing modern and it must be brushed n ickel.
If it were me, I'd go with your already purchased bridge faucet w/curved faucet.

How to make my nose seem smaller??!! i think my nose is to big and looks like a water faucet?
Feb 11, 2009 by ☆bluelollipop95☆ | Posted in Makeup
like my nose is sort of huge when i smile and it bothers me because i like smiling. it has a bridge but then its sort of roundish at the end, like a big marble stuck on the end or something....is there some make-up tips or things to do that can shrink the size of one's nose or make one's nose seem smaller??
im not sure about the foundation tip- because i do running and sports a lot so i think that would melt/fade/wear away in time through sweat and wouldn't that make my face look rather dark?

old faucet, new portable dishwasher?
Jan 12, 2009 by Aunt Ant | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Hello there, My problem is a little different from others. When I hooked up the new Kenmore portable DW water sprayed from the bottom of my faucet spout and near the aerator connection. The faucet is a bridge type with faucets on 8"center and spout/mixer in center with no spray attachment.
Before I hooked up the DW I repaired a slow leak at the spout by replacing 0-ring and redoing the packing. Faucet worked fine on its own then, swivel was a little tight but no leak. when the water sprayed out it brought the packing graphite out with it.
If I need to get a more modern faucet what kind would be best for portable DW? What is diff between ceramic and ball type faucets? Of course I want to be able to mount it on the wall in the same configuration that exists now.
I'm grateful for any suggestions, thanks. Ant
Thanks Steve for your reply. Yes the main problem was from the neck. Went out shopping this afternoon and discovered that these old bridge style faucets are kind-of dinosaurs! I've found them online redone ceramic as opposed to washer. I'm willing to replace it entirely if it will help the DW. What's your experienced opinion?

Thanks Steve, I don't know exactly how to attach a link from flickr. But if this works then shouldn't I be able to purchase a washerless faucet that has the same configuration and attach it wiith those same nuts?
Thanks for your patience Steve. I believe I've fixed the link problem. Yes house is 1920's bungalo. Faucet must be60's or 70's tho'. I'm almost certain I can replace the current with an American Standard I've seen online. May hire local plumber to install and check water pressure at same time. Was told that replacing the nipples might be a good idea too. What do you think? Thanks once again.
