Do bathroom faucets need to match other hardware (door knobs...)? I am looking at "tuscan bronze". Thanks!

They don't need to match, but they should co ordinate, in my opinion.

I guess it would really just depend on how nitpicky you are. For me, no not really, but for a control freak, yeah I guess it would.

Not necessarily door knobs. But they should match other fixtures and lighting in the bath.

they dont have to match but it would look nice

In my house they would. But I would have bought everything ahead of time.

I have oil rubbed bronze light fixtures in the bathrooms....?
May 07, 2008 by princess | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
....should my bathroom faucets also be oil rubbed bronze? or are they okay as a brushed silver? Thanks!
~~There is a large trend in interior design right now to mix metals in a space. Your bathroom would be a great place to do that. With the oil rubbed bronze, I would use a brushed nickel for your hardware and your faucet. Brushed nickel has a slight golden undertone to it as compared to brushed stainless. I think that the brushed nickel would look great and give you a nice contrast.

Ever change the finish on a bathroom fixture?
Feb 21, 2008 by frogqueen96 | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
Is it possible to spraypaint (or use another method) to inexpensively, yet effectively, change the finish on a bathroom sink faucet? I'm remodeling and already have some really nice faucets in oil rubbed bronze, but the rest of the fixtures and hardware in the bathrooms is satin nickel. I'd like to keep the faucets but prefer the nickel. Any ideas or thoughts?
I actually change the finish to oil rubbed bronze all the time, as it is quite trendy
I normally do this with bath hardware, toilet paper roll holders, towel bars, light fixtures, hinges and even ceiling fans
but never a faucet but I suppose it could be done, but you would have to remove it first and by that time why bother
Look on Ebay, you can get some great deals there for faucets or faucets.com
I use espresso spray paint for a base coat and then very lightly mist it with flat black, You can then seal it with polyurethane.
I change old brass or chrome stuff and make them look like new expensive fixtures, for virtually nothing

I don't want the rubbed bronze it's too dark
Moen advertises a finish for life
I know they have a great warrenty
You do need to clean them as per manufacturers instructions
Moen repair parts are readily available and thats a big selling point for me

Is it OK to mix metals in a bathroom?
Feb 08, 2009 by Sue | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
I'd like to use antique bronze faucets and lighting, but the bathtub drain and overflow valve will be silver or brushed silver, as will the toilet lever. Will that look funny?
Also, the shower door I like is available with the bronze frame, but I'm thinking that would make the shower stand out too much where I'd rather have it silver so it blends in more. Is it still OK to have a silver or brushed silver shower if the tub and sink faucets are bronze?
I would suggest you use one or the other finish..the two finishes do not go together and look like you just didn't complete your decorating.
