delta bathroom tub and shower equipment or compatible with what other faucets?
Nov 06, 2007 by KWILLIAMS | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
don't wanna break up my bath tub wall tile just to replace the valve and plumbing. causing more outof pocket expense.Or is it cheaper to do that, or buy more delta faucets(I have already purchased faucets, can't return them)?
What is the problem with what you have? There are a few places that you can get parts from / the parts you need not the whole faucet. Also many companies offer lifetime replacement.
fireman_lll | Nov 06, 2007
Delta rough in valves (equipment) is only compatible with Delta faucets.
hebers1 | Nov 06, 2007
it depends on several issues.
1. what is the problem?
2. do you have access to the plumbing through another wall or panel?
If you dont have access to the pipes through another wall then you have no choice put to remove the tile etc to get to it.

you can buy repair kits for any delta shower valves or faucets.

Do Moen and Delta make anti scalding shower faucets with ceramic valve that come as a package?
Feb 13, 2008 by Roy B | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
Do Moen and Delta make anti scalding shower faucets with ceramic valve that come as a package instead of trim and rough-in or valves that need to be purchased separately?
What's the best faucet out there?
Delta, Moen, Danze (Taiwan)
well I know Moen carries an anti scald line, but I'm not sure about the packaged part of it. I'd check their website for more info. My experience with Delta is that they're "throw away" faucets. I've dealt with breakage and failure from their products. My personal favorite is Kohler, but it can get spendy. American Standard has more affordable lines, if you're looking to save money. I have no experience and therefore no opinion about Danze, though I do know the name.
My suggestion is to check out the different manufactures websites. Most of them have plenty of information regarding what you're asking. I've used them plenty of times while doing specs for plumbers and clients (I'm an Interior Designer). Or you can call up your favorite plumbing supply and get them to do the legwork....lol. I've gotten stuck doing that plenty of times, even when it didn't lead to a sale.
Good luck.

drippy bathroom pop-up stopper from Delta Faucets?
Feb 23, 2006 by n-i-c | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
A friend of mine bought a Delta faucet assembly.
The installed Pop-up Stopper leaks so she called for a replacement. They fed her the following information:
First Call: She was told that her bathroom sink needed to have 6 inches of water in order to have enough pressure to cause a full stoppage of water.
She got home and tried this. Apparently it was a challenge to get the 6 inches because it lets a lot of water pass, but no stoppage occured
Second Call: Told that in the year 2000 an international law was passed which says that a stopper is not suppose to stop ... just slow to prevent overflow. There is a hole in the back of the sink for this; but apparently that isn't good enough.
Can anyone say if ANY of this garbage is true and if so possibly provide the proof.
Thanks in advance.
Well Im A plumber of 20 years and I need A good laugh
And I will say this I have more problems with Delta then any other faucet out there.
But 1 Thing they did say On a sink it will have a slow leak in the pop up (IF AND ONLY IF THERE IS NO WEAP HOLE IN THE SINK TO PREVENT SPILLING) But 99% have this so anyways.
Go to Home Depot and get a new unit. Do Not Get Plastic Get Brass if you can.
Replace it and Take the Delta one out side and shoot it!
I Feel bad for her problems with this. I hate when companys tell customers dumb stuff like that.
Thats like saying your toilet wont flush unless you sit on it and say please.
Anyways if I could do anything else in this matter to help you feel free to contact me at

Moen faucets vs Delta?
Feb 29, 2008 by Hgldr | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
I installed two expensive, nice looking Moen faucets. All the others in my house are normal boring Deltas. The Deltas were very easy to install. They cause no problems. The Moens are a pain in you know where and they keep loosening.
Anyone have experience with Moen?

Love the touch control
This faucet uses a touch control system that turns the faucet on and off with just a touch of the neck or control handle. I like this feature because with the back of my hand I can easily turn off the water while washing a pot and then back on to rinse. You have to get used to only touching the pull out spout when you use it otherwise you can inadvertently turn off the water. I would prefer it if the spray mode had a slightly wider spread.
Make sure you install this faucet far enough back from the sink. It has a fairly large overhang and the water spray angles out slightly. As a result my plumber mounted the faucet a little too close to my sink and so even though I have a large sink the water stream is too close to the front and splashes out when I'm rinsing.
Over all this is a great faucet and I'm very happy with it. I picked it up on Amazon for about half of what it cost in a local store.

Love the faucet!
Fell in love with the tv ads. Looked in plumbing supply houses at it and received mixed reviews from the sales staff although no one ever said why it was not a good faucet to have. The amazon price was SIGNIFICANTLY less than any other discount. Anyhow, the whole family loves it, had it for months now and i love the feel, the appearance and performance of the faucet. A great buy!

Close to perfect.
My wife had to talk me into spending the extra cash to buy this Cadillac of faucets. I just didn't see the need to spend this kind of money when I can get a similar one for hundreds less. Now that I've got this faucet all I can say is, "I LOVE IT!!". It does everything the commercials show it doing. I would absolutely recommend this product. The down side is that it came with a defective solenoid unit. This was frustrating, but Delta sent a replacement right away. Any company that develops a product like this and spends as much as they do on advertising is certainly going to make it right to eliminate any possible bad press. It was a bit disappointing to not have it work right away, but it was worth it in the end. Its just kind of funny when you try to wipe up the counter around it. Its pretty sensitive. I've been squirted a few times. :-)
Way to sensitive
I was so excited about this faucet...it was one of the first things I ordered in our kitchen remodel. However, after 2 weeks, the jury's still out. It's just too sensitive. It just goes on and off when you're washing your hands (if they're too close) or washing dishes, which is extremely annoying. The most annoying, though, is when you grab the spout to spray off your dishes, and it goes off. Then it'll go back on and off, repeatedly, for several times.
And I've looked everywhere for more instruction on operation beyond "just touch it to turn it off and on!" (ie - turn off or wait one second with hand on nozzle before pulling it down to spray), and it's no where.
Lastly, it really "thuds" when it turns on and off with the touch function, which doesn't sound right either.
My husband hates it and is only giving me 1 more week before I have to just turn it to manual operation. I really want it to work, but it's just too frustrating while doing already frustrating dishes. Any advice is welcome.
Works great - we love it
We loved the concept, so despite some negative comments on battery life and odd behavior, we ordered as part of our kitchen makeover. It came in just 2 days w/ standard shipping (Connecticut). The large size goes perfectly with our chocolate Elkay e-granite sink ($400) and Kohler top-of-the line stainless drains ($50 each).
Installation was a bit more involved than a typical faucet, but not bad considering the extra components. A wrench was included for
snugging up the attaching plates. The included inlet pipes are quite long, and my old plumbing (1/2" copper) went up quite high, so I opted to cut my copper back to about 6" tall. I was pleasantly surprised to see new "slip-on" chrome ball valves at the big-box stores.. for about $8 (?) each I avoided the hassle of soldering. Just cut the pipe clean, slide on the value, then connect the Delta piping using the included nuts.
We've had the unit since May (3 months), and are still on our original batteries (it takes 4 C-cells). Not sure why some reviewers are having battery life issues - maybe they didn't wire correctly or maybe they leave it "on" (blue light on) much of the time. We leave the handle in the on position and use the touch feature almost exclusively. Sensitivity seems fine... a gentle touch on the underside of the spout with the back of the hand/wrist is all that's needed (we have not seen a lack of sensitivity in the spout as mentioned by one reviewer - I suspect they haven't properly attached the included wire/strap).
We are on well water; pressure is relatively low and the faucet turns on/off with a clear but well muffled "thunk" as expected. Not sure how this would change in a high-pressure city water setup.
Note there is a 4-minute auto-off feature, but I'd recommend turning off the handle
It's almost perfect, but not quite... on 2 or 3 occassions it turned off/on several times quickly before settling down - this was always when we went to use the faucet and perhaps touched it several times - so partly our fault for confusing it :-)
Would definitely highly recommend to others. The spout and handle are typical Delta high quality stainless; the magnetic spout holder works great. The soap dispenser seems to be plastic, not stainless. I am hoping for a long life solenoid.

Amazon service is great, product looked nice enough, but... CAUTION
The Delta Leland faucet arrived quickly and looked very nice. I also ordered a stainless D sink from Amazon in preparation for a kitchen remodel. My caution to other remodelers is to keep in mind Amazon's return policy when purchasing items for a long-term project. I thought I was being efficient by ordering my sink and faucet early in the kitchen planning process. However, by the time the countertop company was able to come to take measurements several weeks later, at which time they determined that the 3 piece faucet set would not work in the allotted space, it was almost too late to return the faucet. I actually had one remaing hour to repackage the faucet and race to UPS before my time frame for an Amazon full refund expired.

Nice faucet
This is a good looking and well functioning kitchen faucet at a good price. I had the soap dispenser positioned on the right side of the sink for washing dishes and the faucet and handle positioned in the center (of a double bowl sink). This works well. I especially like the pull-down spray feature on the faucet that I had originally doubted would be a good idea. Indeed, it saves a lot of time and makes it super easy to keep the sink clean. Good purchase!
A useful product
Amazon's response to my order for this faucet was as expected, very professional. The faucet is of high caliber and very practical. I could have installed it myself but I have a very good handy man that I trust to do a good job. He installed it very quickly and without any problems.
So far I found these problems. The instructions as usual, covered more than the faucet model I purchased. The spray head does scatter water around the sink but not too much if I keep the flow reduced. The spray head is somewhat difficult to manipulate because of the stiffness of the "flexible" tubing. Overall, the faucet is really a joy to use compared to the faucet that it replaced. I am very satisfied with it.
well-made, excellent water flow control
I am very happy with the product. It's well made and has excellent water flow control handle. The water flow out of the head is excellent in both the regular and the spray modes. The pull-down head works smoothly and the magnet helps the head return back nicely. I had this unit professionally install by a licensed plumber. I am keeping the installation receipt for possible life-time warranty parts claim. I'll recommend this product.

One that looks nice from a distance and one with a bad sensor?
I disagree with the comment by [...] in response to another customer with issues...... I had a problem with the finish and touch sensor technology on two pilar faucets and called to speak with customer service. I was told to take a picture and email it to them! I don't even own a digital camera... so much for customer service. I have another one of these for my bar sink that looks and works GREAT........However I am now forced to live with two 400 faucets that look nice from a distance until you stand over it and see a glaring defect in the spout and the other that the touch technology has quit working. I would have thought that Delta would have stood behind this product better than making their customers take pictures and jump through various hoops to get a replacement. If I could return it to the store for a replacement I would. In my opinion, in the current condition of two of the three I own, it may be best in the recycle bin. I mean, why not replace it like most manufactures to keep face and loyalty of their customer???? I understand a bad product among thousands once in a while ....as long as you stand behind it!...

Kitchen remodel
I remodeled my kitchen and bought the Delta touch 2 faucet. When installed it did not work however Delta sent a new "brain" for it. Delta also sent a local plumber to make the repair, when he did he found it was the battery holder that was not working. It works great now. Love that I can turn the water on when my hands are messy and don't have to wipe down the faucet after my hands are clean. Very easy to get use to using this faucet and a fun item for every day use.

Wow this faucet is the Humvee of faucets!
On appearance alone this faucet is five stars. It is large and sturdy. The stainless steel finish is awesome; smooth and silky finish with grey and silver hues. I call it the Humvee of faucets for the strong appearance and size. This faucet size makes other faucets look like toys.
I honestly can't speak on installation issues. I can say the plumber enjoyed installing and playing with this faucet. He loved it. It seemed to go smoothly for him and he had a kick toying with it.
On functionality I would give this faucet a five. It is large and so larger pots clear no problem. The spray nozzle can be extended and moved from one side to the other. The spray hose appears to be strong and is flexible. The touch function works like a dream. There is a sliding button on nozzle to adjust spray to a steady stream or for spray. The control for water temperature is on the side stalk and I love how it pivots.
I have noticed some reviews mention the solonoid going bad. I just bought this so can't speak to that issue. I bought anyway because it looks like Delta support is good. I will amend this review if there is any issue in the future.
The only other thing I would mention for someone considering this faucet is the single stalk mount itself does not pivot-it stays fixed. So our sink is divided and the plumber mounted with a tilt toward one side of the sink where we do most of our dishwashing. This tilt makes it look a little off center. However this is a mounting choice and not a necessity; you could mount on center and then pull out the spray nozzle toward which ever side you need to use it. It must be that more sinks are made now without a division in the middle and our sink is old school.
To sum up this faucet is awesome. I hesitated due to price but when you see it you can appreciate the fit and finish. No regrets! Love it!

Review update -- works great.
We had our plumber/electrician install this faucet and he was unable to do so, announcing the product defective (see original review, below). However, my 18-year-old son looked at it and after 10 minutes had it fixed and working perfectly. (The plumber had the contact for the faucet connected to ground.) It takes a while to get used to, but now I find myself touching other faucets with the back of my wrist to turn them on. My sons and husband love it, "It's SO COOL!"
ORIGINAL REVIEW: We are remodeling our kitchen and were excited to install this "cool," high-tech faucet but it doesn't work right. The touch function works on the handle but not on the faucet. If you leave it in touch mode, the faucet turns on by itself unpredictably. The pull-out handle does not retract -- the electronics for the faucet are the "weights" that are supposed to pull it back into place, but it doesn't pull it back. This was not a DIY install -- I hired a contractor to install it. He says that it is connected properly and grounded and there are no adjustments to make, so we're stuck with this.
I could turn off the electronics and use it as a standard faucet, but I still have the problem with the sprayer not retracting. Not good.
Unfortunately this was the first item we ordered for our remodel so it's past the 30-day return time, AND the contractor threw away the box so we are out $300. Very disappointed.
Awesome!
We've had this faucet installed for about 2 months and I love it! Not only does it look amazing with our new kitchen, but it works beautifully and it's fun! Never thought I'd get so excited about turning water on and off - but the faucet makes it easy and practical. How many times my hands are grungy (why else would I need to wash them?) and touching the faucet with the back or my hand, forearm, or wrist makes washing them quick and easy without spreading all the grunge. Our plumber commented that it was easy to install. My concern was that such a tall faucet would create a lot of side spray, but it is just the opposite. We have a deep sink (9") but there is no unwanted splashing and the pull out is fantastic. I would definitely do this one again.

Magnatite feature is wonderful!
This faucet is beautiful and I wouldn't describe it as "country" at all. Granted, it's not a 90degree right angle modern faucet, but we have it in a modern/contemporary/eclectic kitchen and it fits in perfectly. We actually have this one and the larger kitchen sink one. The only draw back to the bar/prep sink model is that it does NOT have a switch on the side to change the stream to spray, like the kitchen one does, otherwise this would be a "5". I would give the kitchen sink model a 5 star rating. The magnetic holding system for the pull out sprayer works exceptionally well. We noticed in the big box stores that many were hanging down and noted that as a weakness, which delta has addressed. The finish on the stainless steel one is beautiful and overall this faucet feels like a quality piece of equipment, unlike some of the more expensive ones at the big box store, which have plastic feeling/cheap pull down sprayers. you can probably find this cheaper on other websites, which we did.

So far meets expectations
We bought this model when we had our kitchen renovated a few weeks ago. The two features that made us pick this faucet were the shape, which looks great in the kitchen, and the magnetic faucet attachment, which we hoped would be easy to reattach after pulling it out to spray or rinse. So far, the faucet sprayer been very easy to re-seat after pulling it out.

Nice Faucet
This item was a great purchase on Amazon, about $50 less than everyone else's price. As far as this faucet goes, the quality is there. I'm glad we went with this model, as I read reviews that the soap dispensor is not great quality and therefore not worth buying the model that came with that. The stainless steel finish is very nice and does not attract fingerprints badly. Overall, a nice product.
Quick and easy purchase
I was very pleased with this purchase and would recommend this item and this vendor.

Fun to use
We just had new countertops installed and the installer recommended Delta faucets. I love the pull our sprayer; option to spray or full (however my husband keeps putting it on spray and it sprays me too when I'm not expecting it). Easy install.
gerat kitchen faucet
I really am impressed with this faucet. It looks great, works as described and cleans with a wipe of a damp cloth. I have a very deep double big/small side sink and it covers every inch. Spray is nice and even and it does not splash out of the sink, especially like that it is so easy to use if you have something in one hand. Be careful not to swing it too hard when your hands are full or it will end up back against the wall. Very easy to maneuver and the spray end comes out easy and goes back firmly. I have only had it a month to will update later if I have problems but so far love it. Amazon price best I could find. It looks like to cost a lot more than it did.

Waiting for Water on Ruleville-Drew Road
04.09.10
When an 800-foot well that had been their personal source of unsound began spitting up Mississippi sand almost seven years ago, the ten homeowners on an far-flung road in Sunflower County resorted to other means.
They filled jars and jugs from relatives’ still water taps and at a self-usage laundry in the megalopolis of Ruleville, six minutes away by car. They began buying bottled fizzy water be illogical in bulk from a regional big-box stock.
Seven years later, they still don’t have potable be inconsistent. There are plans now to reach water lines to these ten homes, but the unreservedly urinate isn’t there yet.
Ninety-seven percent of Mississippians do have custom drinking unstintingly. That a handful of residents do not reflects part of a broader exit confronting agrarian communities, in precise, around the country. The West Virginia University-based State Environmental Services Center, which tracks the fight, last estimated that 2 million people across the outback have insufficient tap water and 690,000 have no running liberally at all.
After their well gave out, the homeowners along Ruleville-Drew Street, with its mish-mash of trailers, bricked and clapboard abodes, identified a reservoir in a exceptional neighbor’s yard. On that blackheads they carved out a 100-foot well. They erected a 10-foot giant storage tank, swaddled it in fiberglass insulation and electrician’s tape recording, then jerryrigged a network of pipes under backyards, frontyards and the asphalt avenue. The water is fit for housecleaning and washing, but not for drinking.
