Brasscraft faucet connector?
Aug 23, 2008 by Dilbert | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
This connector hose has a compression connector at the lower end. What happens when I connect it and later disconnect it? Is the compression connector ruined by having been used? Or can I reuse it again and again?
How do you replace the ferrule? It seems to be built in to the connector.
After they have been on for a number of years, they get corroded, and may or may not connect without leaking. My suggestion would be to replace it with and new supply hose. The best, and easiest are the braided stainless connectors. Take your old supply to Home Depot, or hardware, and they will match it up with one that will work. These take all the hassle out of plumbing repairs.

These can be re-used. And don't over-tighten them. Snug is enough, if there should be a drip replace the ferrule (the little brass tapered part that is under the nut.

My Hot water supply faucet is leaking from the hose connector. If I keep it connected to my washing machine?
Mar 05, 2009 by Kim * | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
the leaking goes to the hose adn finally I guess to the machine. I just realize that is leaking when I disconnected. I am worry if the leaking is going to damage my machine. I only use it on the weekends. I wonder if the machine keeps receiving water when not in use will it get damaged. Will the machine get rid of it if not in use ?
Please help me. Tell me how bad my machine get damaged.
Just shut off the water supply spigot when not in use. It won't hurt the machine, but it might fill it up and overflow if it isn't used for a long time. The machine won't drain unless its running in the Drain Cycle.

What is the connector called that you need to attach to your faucet for a portable dishwasher?
Aug 20, 2006 by Patches | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
If you go to an appliance parts store and tell them that you need the connector for the faucet to connect your dishwasher and give them the make and model number they will be able to give you exactly what you need. The problem of going to a plumbing supply or home center is that there are a couple of different types and you may not get the right one without making a few trips unless you know what it looks like.

Is there a tool to open faucet pipe connector nuts located under and behind vanity sink bowl?
Nov 04, 2007 by AT | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
I am trying to replace existing vanity bowl sink from bathroom and when trying to take the faucets out, there are flexible pipes that connect at the bottom of faucets (to bring in cold and hot water). The nuts that connect those pipes to the bottom of faucets are in very tight space (behind and under the vanity sink bowl) and nut is screwed very tight to open by hand. Any ideas or tools to reach and open this nut so that the faucets can be take out and the sink bowl can be removed?
Yes, there is a tool which consists of a long handle atop of which is wrench type head which will clamp around the nuts you wish to loosen. This is available in any good local hardware store, or chains like Home Depot or Lowes. Some might even rent the tool so you wouldn't have to purchase it.

My hot water supply faucet is leaking from the hose connector. Will it damage my machine?
Mar 05, 2009 by Kim * | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
My hot water supply faucet is leaking from the hose connector even when is shut off. If I keep it connected to the washing machine, there is no leaking.
I just realized that when I disconnected the hoses from the faucet. Leaking steadily and dripping on the floor.
When it's connected the leaking goes obviously to the hose and finally I guess to the machine.
I am worry. Is the leaking going to damage my machine? I only use it on the weekends. I wonder if my machine keeps receiving water when not in use, will it get damaged. How the machine is going to get rid of the water if not in use? That sitting water can cause a serious damage to the washing machine.
Please help me. Tell me how bad my machine can get damaged. I am just not sure if I should fix it since it's not leaking on the floor but it goes to the machine
Thanks thanks so much
wow, if the hose bursts when you are not home, the whole house could flood. Or make a huge mess at least. Water continually in the drum of the washing machine could cause it to rust, so I would be careful. Just get it fixed, it's less expensive to do that, than to replace the machine & possible the flooring it is sitting on!
