Are there supposed to be fingerprints and watermarks on KOHLER kitchen faucets brand new in the box?

I purchased one at Home Depot and when I opened the box I noticed a whole bunch of fingerprints and dried watermarks all over the faucet itself. Is this normal? I mean does KOHLER test out their products this way and ship in the box without cleaning them? That seems very weird. Or could it be that I was sold a used kitchen faucet?
Most definately you got a faucet that was returned and put right back on the shelf.I would be pissed if I went to the trouble of installing it and find out it's defective! Take it back and exchange it.

Fingerprints maybe, water marks no. I think you have purchased a set of taps that were returned. Which might be fine, but I think you should have gotten a discount.

no on both counts.The faucet should come out of the box with nothing on it at all,the last thing that is done to it before packaging is its cleaned completely.Someone has bought that faucet,installed it and didnt like it,or just switched the new for an old and then returned it.Return the faucet for an exchange or refund,and tell the store where you bought it that you want t o open the new one and inspect it before you buy it.

I have been to the Kohler factory and watched the products being produced. If you had bought a product new then you would probably not have either of those things on your faucet. A fingerprint possibly, no water spots! This is probably an item that has been returned.

From personal experience, my husband and I bought an old house that has been partially renovated. All the sinks were recently replaced with Pegasus fixtures and sinks. But, all the showers still had older Moen fixtures in them. The faucet in the kitchen sink has already broken twice - and currently, it's beyond repair and needs to be replaced. We've never had a problem with the old Moen faucets, in this house and in other houses we have renovated.
I haven't completely sworn off Pegasus faucets, because they have a good reputation, and they are generally comparable to Moen and Kohler in looks and price. If it were up to me, I would probably buy either a Moen or Pegasus and most of my decision would be based on the price and looks of the faucet, since both products are outstanding.

My Kohler faucet slowed to a trickle all of the sudden.?

It is a single control bathroom faucet and the problem is not the core diverter assembly. it seems to be from the point where water would enter the spigot from below the divertor core.
Look at the end of the faucet (where the water comes out). The end should screw off (it'll take some effort, but if you dry it well and have dry hands, it will probably come eventually). Inside of that is a little plastic screen. Make sure gunk hasn't accumulated behind it. If it has, just clean it out with some water, and you should be good to go.
Every once in a while, a pipe somewhere in the house throws of some chunks of debris, and this is usually where they end up.
