Peerless Faucet?
Oct 15, 2006 by babaass | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I have drilled & drilled on this singe handle faucet on this stripped set screwed and the hole is just getting bigger & bigger. I still can not get the handle off. What do you do?
How long have you had the faucet?? Peerless is made by Delta and do come with warrenties - but mind you since you have *drilled and drilled* you might have blown the warrenty on it. I would take it back to the store where you purchased it and tell them you can't get it off and see what they can do - or at least call the store and have them send the Delta rep out to you and have them fix the faucet if it is still under warrenty. Thats what we do at our store.

If you have drilled and drilled and still can't get the handle off, change the faucet. At this point you are beyond ever getting the handle back on. Sorry for the bad news. Good Luck

How do I change the O rings in a Peerless faucet?
Jul 22, 2007 by ohio_mike | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
My Peerless faucet is dripping and I was told it would be easier and cheaper to change the O rings instead of the faucet. So I need to know how to do that.
Take the model no. to lowes or home depot get a repair kit for the faucet. The instructions will be in the kit.

I changed the O rings in my peerless bathroom faucet, but now the water won't turn off?
Jul 29, 2007 by ohio_mike | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I changed the seats and springs in the stems of the faucet and I turned the water on and water came out of the faucet and you can't control it with the valves on the faucet.
I changed the seats and springs not the O rings. The guy at lowes said that was what needed to be changed.
Start by checking to see that the new seats and springs remained in place when the faucet was reassembled. Next check to see the the ball was installed correctly. Make sure that the cam washer is tightened enough to prevent a leak at the top of the faucet but not too tight as to restrict movement of the handle.

How do you stop a dripping washerless peerless bathroom sink faucet?
Mar 04, 2007 by Robin | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I have taken the handle off, and made sure the base is as tight as it can get, but when I turn the water back on, it still drips. (this is the hot water side.) Any ideas short of replacing the faucet will help.
I had one like that and theres a little part that has to be replaced in it. It's probably a washerless faucet. It has a worn ceramic part thats a little bigger than a erasor on a pencil. There are kits at the big stores. Try Lowe's or Home Depot.
Theres also a phone number for peerless faucets and they'll help you if you have trouble. I had trouble and they were very patient and helpful. Anyway I fixed it.

After I repaired my peerless ball-type faucet which was leaking from the spigot, I now have a new problem...?
Jul 20, 2007 by Eric D | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
It started leaking from the base just below the chrome dome. I tried playing with the tightness of the chrome dome as well as adjusting the plastic piece on top with the spanner wrench. The problem is that if I tighten both pieces just to the point that the handle moves freely, the faucet leaks from the handle just below the chrome dome as soon as I turn it on. However, if I tighten the chrome dome with a wrench and then tighten the plastic part with a spanner wrench, it won't leak but it is very hard to move the handle. I have also heard this causes premature wear on the rubber parts. Is there a happy medium between a freely moving handle and no leaking?!
I was following the instructions on the following web site, so you can see the parts I am talking about:
http://www.hammerzone.com/archives/plumbing/faucet/delta_peerless/1/overhaul.htm
To the person who suggested replacing the seals and orings, thank you for the suggestion. This was actually the first thing I did, and I changed the springs, cam, and the black seal beneath the cam. The original reason I took the faucet apart was because it was leaking from the spigot. After I repaired that leak by swapping the above parts, I noticed it was now leaking from the base. The only way I could get it to stop leaking from the base was to tighten it so much that the handle no longer moves reasonably freely.
When you take the handle off and remove the "chrome dome" did you slide the spout off? There are two o-rings that the spout slides over. Take the spout off and replace those o-rings. If you've already done that and you still are having a leak then it sounds as if it is time to replace your faucet. Go back with a Delta or Moen....both good faucets...hopefully tho, you didnt do what I said and that this will help!!
