You didn't specify what type of faucet you had, so here a few link that may help.
Hope it helps.

im a plumber, r u talking about a shower or tub fuacet? if so u can take them apart and replace the seats and springs or washers ( depends on what fuacet u have) replacing the entire fuacet will require u to remove walls

there's really not enough info, if it's the faucet it self or a washer leak, or pipe, it is possible if it's a washer or valve, other wise i would say you have to open the wall .

it depends on what the problem is if it is a slow leak/drip it could
be an easy fix by replacing the rubber/plastic washer (shut off
the supply first) if not more detail needed

had one and we had to go under house to replace piping but to repair or replace you should be able to do it from the wall

wall-mount faucet is below the handles. Any way to rig it so there isn't extra water dribbling out...?

...after it's shut off. What do people do when the plumbing in the wall is above the faucet, causing extra water in the line to drain out after shut-off?
I know what you mean. There is no easy solution to this. I would just live with it. Unless you want to spend a lot of money.

Is it easy to install a wall mount bathroom faucet?
Jun 26, 2006 by EddieTChan | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
Is there a website that shows you how to install a typical wall mount bathroom faucet?
If you are replacing an existing one , it should not be difficult - Turn off the Water, and drain the faucet, then Unscrew the Nut on the hot and cold side- repeat in reverse order.

Is it possible to change from a wall mounted faucet, to a sink mounted?
Jan 22, 2009 by mebarrett23 | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
We live in a very old house, and the kitchen has a porcelin sink with a wall mounted faucet. The faucet gave in today, so now we need a new one. However, because it's wall mounted, we're having a difficult time finding/affording a reasonable faucet, and want to know if we can somehow install a sink mounted faucet instead. Any insight would be great, thanks!
In theory, it can be done but will require re-routing the pipes. The pipes are presumably inside the walls so you may need to cut into the walls, or maybe cut existing pipes off in the basement, abandon the part in the wall and extend with new pipe to the new fawcet lacation. In most cases, it would only require changing 2 or 3 feet of pipe, but it might be a fussy job (lots of elbows etc) depending on access and/or what might be in the way. Of course, if the sink is one of those old enameled iron sinks where the fawcet comes through the backsplash, you would also need to change the sink. You could do the job yourself if you are reasonably handy.

How do I install a wall mounted kitchen faucet?
Apr 25, 2006 by pimasol | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
I now have a top mounted faucet but I purchased an old vessle sink and wall mounted faucet. The water lines are different.
the water supply lines need to be redirected up the wall towards your new location and new fitting istalled in the rough, so that a finish layer ( tile usally ) be applied and then the sink faucet mounted to the wall. this will entail opening up the wall to re direct the water lines and soldering ( if copper supply ), and of course patching
