What kind of garage flooring do you recommend?
Mar 05, 2007 by Reality | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
I want to cover my garage floor. What's the best product to use. I dont want to pay out the nose, but I do want it to look good and last. Both of my cars are in good shape meaning there's no oil leaks. Not at this time anyways.
What’s with the cement answers? I bet you already have cement, and are just wondering what to do to cover it. So go to the hardware store and get a garage floor epoxy kit it looks good and resists things like moisture oil, and gas. Read the instructions you can only cover so much at a time.

I had my garage floor painted with a coloured sealer that matches the driveway colour. Everything just wipes off. Cost me $1500.00 to get a concretor to do the triple garage.

Concrete, with a liquid sealer applied before using.

Check your local hard ware store, most of the time they have a good pain product that will over well and have some non slip additive that will keep people from falling as well as easy to clean in case of spill.

cement or rosewood parquet.

I'd seen a show on tv about a garage that was redone with a product called "Concrete Solutions", and although it was a five-step process, it looked excellent to me. I didn't do my garage, but we had a community center with a cement floor that badly needed redoing. We hired a firm to come in and do the place, and it came out terrifically well done. It'll never have to be done again, and it resists just about anything that's done to it and comes up still looking great. To get an idea about it, see the page at the below link. Good luck.

How much would it cost to get epoxy flooring for my garage?
Jun 29, 2007 by Mohsy | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
We got our first house and really know nothin about garage floors besides the fact that ours was very dirty. I decided to paint it like you would paint a wall. And well, yeah, that was a dumb idea. Paint began to wear and oil stains are show through the paint ( shoulda removed them first). Well i want to get my garage floor done with epoxy. Just wondering how much the cost would be for a 400 sq ft garage., with major oil stains and cracking on bottom lining to the wall.
I have used the Behr product. You will have to Wash the concrete first witha Behr degreaser, Then use a behr acid etch prep. Then use a behr primer and then put 2 coats of the epoxy floor coat. It is very scrubbable after curing. I know you can't frive on it for several days after you finish and there are drying times between steps. Be careful too your vehicle may leave hot tire marks on the floor. I would also reccomend using a anti-slip in the epoxy.

I am looking for an industrial garage flooring system that is easy to lay with minimal disruption to the working day as where the flooring need doing work never stops. I am looking for some kind of PVC flooring system. Any help appreciated.
Try www.garage-flooring-tiles.co.uk. This is a company called Evertile Ltd and their product is very good. They say it is ideal for factories, warehouses, workshops, gymnasiums and garages. And i agree. This is excellent stuff that stays in place and best of all you can do it yourself with minimal workplace disruption.

what is apoxie garage flooring?
Feb 11, 2008 by maryam f | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
it is a type of garage flooring
Epoxy is a mixture of Resin and Hardener. It provides a very Hard & Durable Surface, and can be applied directly on Concrete with a Bonder (Primer).
The nice thing is, if you don't like the Color, you can just purchase Epoxy Paint, which can be tinted. It's aprox. double the Price of Wall Paint, but extremely durable.
This is a great Product. It adds a Professional feel to your Garage.

I have a 1 car garage, with the flooring currently concrete. We do not park in the garage.?

We would like to install either a nice carpet, interlocking tiles, or some other flooring to cover the concrete...we use this space more like another room (ie: to host BBQ's etc...) Any suggestions? We don't not want to spend a lot and would like to do the work either ourselves or for very inexpensive labor. Thank you in advance!
Carpet, ceramic tile, and vinyl tile can all be purchased at a low price. Both kinds of tile are easy to install. Carpet will be harder unless you glue it down, which isn't a bad idea anyway.
You can buy a cheap commercial carpet for about $0.70 per ft. or even less. If you glue it down you won't need to purchase padding or tack strip. I'm guessing your garage is around 400 sq. ft. Using that estimate, you could carpet for under $350. Ceramic tile will cost a little more, about $1 per ft. plus mortar & grout. You could do it for under $550.
Vinyl tiles are the cheapest, and easiest. You can buy some of them for $0.50 per ft. If you want to use them the concrete must be very smooth. Glue down vinyl tiles are better than peel and stick but they cost more.
My suggestion would be carpet since it is cheap and almost always looks better than vinyl tiles.
