I have a carpet covering my gym floor, but not too happy with it....
That is probably the best possible flooring for the money. Wood will dent,chip and split, vinyl will get sliced and dented, tile will also. Carpet is quiet and will absorb the shock of the weights nicely. A good commercial piece will last a long time. Other than that, the foam type pads that you piec together look nice but come apart easily and cost a small fortune.

Pergo or a like product. Easy to clean and amazingly durable and scratch resistant. A definite + for resale value. Will last 15-20 years.

where can i buy cove base for maple gym flooring?

The cove base is 4"X6" hard rubber or plastic. its purpose is to cover a 2" gap at the perimeter of a gym floor,
never seen anything that big at lowes or home depot, but they should be able to order something

I am looking to purchase interlocking foam or rubber flooring for a home gym. I am based in Montreal, Quebec and I need to find a vendor that is local to this area from whom I can buy. I would consider going as far as Ottawa to the west and Quebec City to the north but would prefer not buying from the USA due to having to pay additional fees (duty at border, etc).
Some examples of the product or similar products that I am interested in:
The specs are pretty simple. I am looking for something that will cover an area of 15 feet by 13 feet. It needs to be durable, shock absorbent as the type of gym I will be doing on it is intense aerobics and plyometrics (lots of jumping around, need to protect my joints/back as current flooring is cement). Thanks!
Any of the large home improvement stores should carry those. Here, Lowes and Home Depot carry them.

The smell of rubber is owing to organic compounds of nitrogen and sulfur used as antioxidants and antiozonants.
Gyms are usually floored with hard wood, stained and varnished. They shouldn't have a smell.

National gym flooring is an investment which needs to be considered in the context of your life, your needs, and the needs of other people in your national. The first consideration is whether or not you actually have enough home gym equipment to make it upright. If you are building a home gym which either yourself or members of your family will use on an ongoing constituent, then you should think about installing the right flooring. If you only have the odd piece of equipment, and recollect that you will soon be joining an outside gym to enhance your training, don’t even muse on about it.
Even if you know you are dedicated enough to want to build your own home gym, and dedicated enough to keep using it every day, there is still the effect of a possible house move. Gym flooring may not add much, if any, value to a property, because there may not be any potential buyers who have any interest in habitation fitness. Unlike fitting an improved kitchen or bathroom, seemly a home gym complete with flooring is not going to prove a sound investment. It is only value doing if you are going to be staying in the house for some time.
Of surely, we all know that life can throw up unpredictable curves. No-one knows whether or not they, or a relations member, will suddenly be offered the opportunity of a lifetime in another part of the hinterlands. What is essential is you know in your own mind that you are not expecting this to happen. If you are steadfast of this, then you can take your own first steps to getting the floor installed. The home gym flooring which is sold today is of supreme quality, every bit as good as that used in professional gymnasia, although there will be cheaper versions sold at discounted prices.
The solemnization of the flooring will be another expense you will have to take account of. You could do this yourself if you have any do it yourself skills, or you can hire a contractor. Hiring a contractor brings its own unique kind of risk unless you already know someone who can do the job. If you don’t, try to get references and referrals from people who have had gym flooring installed before. If you can peradventure arrange to view an installation, so much the better.

Too thin and edges lift up in our garage
This is the best price for something like this, but it is kind of cheap too. It's good enough for us, but if I had a gym with clients I would go with a better quality one.
This is GREAT!
Ordered this for the flooring in our exercise room. It went down VERY easily, good quality, soft enough to do some lite aerobics (over concrete floor). We also have a treadmill and an elliptical machine on the flooring and it is holding up very well.
Company was very easy to work with and the product was shipped and received quickly. Will purchase from them again.
nice mats for practicing martial arts
I practice martial arts and I got these to practice falling for Akido. There were enough in the set that I could cover a good area 2 to 3 mats deep depending on what falls and rolls I am planning to practice that day. For BJJ floor work they are not bad also. They are easy to clean when done for the day. I also practice kung fu, when doing kicks they do not slide on me.

Floor mats
This product is everything the seller described and more. The rubber mats are high-quality, durable and easy to install. Great floor covering for a basement gym!
Took no time at all to install, and really looks good. So much nicer to have these down than carpet, and they're pretty easy to clean. Cheaper than carpet too! A box cutter works really well to cut these to size when going around corners, etc.
Amazing Customer Service!
We placed an order for the tiles but came to find out the thickness was not the same as the tiles we already had. We needed to cancel our order. They were so gracious and educational. I only wish we had originally purchased our tiles from them. For our next job you can be sure we will be getting our tiles from We Sell Mats!!!!
looks good wears bad
installed the flooring in my new gym and it looked great, after 4 weeks of use where my wife (112#) does her jumping jacks the floor panels have warped and do not lay flat. I was forced to order over 300.00 in buffalo gym mats 3/4 inch to cover the workout area of the gym. I would not recommend this product. it is very fragile for a workout area......

I ordered the 48' square mats for my workout area and the were easy to assemble and great to walk on my kids visited me and complimented the mats saying they look great on the floor and more than covered the area needed. They are soft to walk on and very comfortable to the feet when walking with no shoes. I would recommend these mats to anyone looking to purchase them I saw simular mats at a sports store and trust me they cost way more and smaller than the one's I purchased. I'm happy and very satisfied with my mats. I had some left over so i'm going to use them for my hip hop abbs to absorb the weight for comfort, I have tile floors so i'll be able to take off my shoes and enjoy my mats.

All in - a great product and a great seller
Great deal on these - very prompt shipping/delivery. Light weight. Fit together easily and seamlessly - squared edges for nice finish. Only just bought so have to wait to determine durability. Placed on rough-finished concrete floor so no slippage as others have reported but can see how they might slip on hardwood or tile smooth surface.
Addendum: bought some additional tiles, and they did not fit with the first batch I bought. Emailed on Sunday AM and received telephone call later that day from owner. She was most willing to make an exchange without trouble-shooting the issue, but we agreed that she should test my claim at the warehouse. Monday, received an email confirming my claim, and received pre-paid shipping label for bad tiles. Sent new ones within the day and I had them within 3 days. A first-rate seller. Will buy from them again. GREAT customer service!
Got them as a gift, but wouldn't buy
they do well for what they are and many are ignoring the specs on the item. they're only 3/8" thick so that's the reason why they're cheaper than "comparable" mats.
for less than the selling price plus shipping you could visit a certain sporting good store and get 2 sets of 1/2" thick core with a pattern to keep slipping to a minimum for less than this set.
people should really have done their homework before buying this.
and of course i'll be using this set for my daughter's tumbling and getting the other set for me. if my daughter couldn't use them i'd be either giving them back or giving them away.

Good product - great seller
Original shipment was great, but second order did not fit (manufacturing problem, not seller's error). Sent email - response from seller within hours (on a Sunday, no less). Pre-paid label by next day as replacement shipment was in the mail. GREAT customer service.
Pricing?
I'm in the market for an exercise mat and ran across this product. Seems to fit my needs. I see the product is sold by "We sell mats" so I went to their website to see if I could get a better deal than through Amazon. I was pleased to see the website offers free shipping.
But wait! The price for the same mats on the "we sell mats" website is $96. The price on Amazon is $59.99 + $29.74 shipping equaling $89.73. So basically there is no free shipping and they jacked up the price to cover the shipping cost on their website.
For this reason alone I will stay away from this company. These type of shady business practices scream buyer beware.
Good value and quality
I have been using these tiles for a month now in my work/workout room. They have just the right amount of cushiness to protect the hardwood floor underneath from heavy objects like weights and heavy furniture, etc. The tiles will dent when standing objects, like table legs, are placed on top of the tiles, which is not a concern for me. Putting the tiles together was kind of fun like a puzzle, but without the difficulty. The price is very good compared to buying them retail, and you don't have to pay sales tax, at least for California. A good value and quality.

So far, so good
Product shipped in timeframe indicated and assembled quickly and easily. I liked that the edges were modular so you could put together as needed and still have nice finished edges and corners. I am using it as flooring in a basement home-gym and have not yet worked out on it, but when spending time on it to assemble a weight bench, it felt cushiony to sit and kneel on. My one concern (hence the 4 stars and not 5) is that it feels like it will slip with too much movement even with a weight bench and weights on part of it. Not so much give that I think its unusable, but something to be aware of depending on use.

Because of late water mutilate, Lees Summit West Luxurious School students and athletes may not be gifted to use their gym floor until April.</p><p>Unhesitatingly now, were looking at a Strut 31 realization date, said Jay Helland, headman of facility services for the clique district. We enmity to see something like this come to pass, especially because of our seniors, but this was one of those sure things.</p><p>According to LSW managing director Cindy Bateman, on Jan. 10, be inconsistent was discovered coming from the ceiling of the gym.</p><p>I happened to be there that day, walking the indoor catch. The junior varsity volleyball collaborate was there practicing and I heard a yelp, she said. I looked around and there was be indefensible pouring from the ceiling. </p><p>Helland said the mix of below biting temperatures, coupled with a spirited thaw, caused a whorl in the rooftop heating and cooling element to burst. Bateman said mineral water could be seeing rushing from the ceiling. </p><p>Our present response was to get barrels and containers, anything we could fill with dishwater, she said. But we could hardly keep up getting them empty, the soda water was coming in so dissipated.</p><p>Within 30 minutes, part facility employees were at the school in and eventually turned the spray off.</p><p>The worst part was, even after the deuterium oxide was turned off, we by the skin of one's teeth had to wait for it to drip, Bateman said. We couldnt unusually do anything to speed up the convert. </p><p>The spa water completely damaged the gym floorboards, Helland said, getting underneath the minimum and ruining it. Workers from Pinnacle Floor New Zealand, which have done flooring work for the division before, immediately started working on tearing up the damaged defeat. </p><p>When he spoke to the Chronicle on Monday, Helland said crews were expected to be finished on the center part of the gym beat by the end of the week. </p><p>After that, well withdraw the bleachers out and start replacing the confuse underneath them, he added.
