What color would go well with my natural stone floor in my bathroom?
Oct 06, 2006 by chaseschoon | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
My bathroom has natural stone tiles in greys, greens, terracota and teal. I need some color on the wall to bring out the tiles, but I don't want to go too dark, any suggestions?
rust and mustard

Well you already know the colors in your stone so just pick one of those and use that. I wouldnt go with the teal tho. Maybe something cool like the grey but with a tint of green in it or terracotta.

A beautiful shade of aqua would be nice. It goes well with all of those colors.

What about a sandstone colour, bathrooms are usually small and they need a bit of extra help in the lighting department.

Have you thought of using maybee tungue and groove cedar? Finished natural, it will have blond, tan, and orange hues.also very aromatic and resistant to the moisture.just put it up raw and put a clear wood preservant on it.

How about cream, maybe with a small metallic component?

For your walls, I would like to suggest that you use white for a base color and take one or more colors from your tile and sponge-paint over the white. There is a variety of two-paint rollers available, along with instruction guides. You could also hand-sponge your colors. There are painting kits as well, and you could find them at any Home Depot, Loews, or even Walmart Stores. I have painted rooms in my home in this style and they look very nice. I hope this suggestion has helped you, and good luck!

terracotta and use teal as your accent color.

Just use lighter shades of the existing tiles you have in there or pick one of the colors, then mix that, small amount ,into cream or white shades to accent them..

The tiles sound like mostly cool colors; it may be interesting to use a warm paint color to complement.
www.behr.com has a great color selection tool. You could try using that to select a color from your tile, and then ask the tool to suggest coordinating colors. You may be able to use a light color on the wall, and one of the bolder colors as an accent (window coverings, towels, rugs). Behr does have a paint color that is like a light terra cotta, called Sunset Beige. You might look that up and see what you think.

How do I clean & maintain natural stone floors?
May 31, 2006 by netrecruiter05 | Posted in Cleaning & Laundry
I have stone floors in my home and am having a problem
with a whitish haze on the stone tiles in the shower.
Is this mineral or soap deposits? What is the best way
to clean, polish and maintain this?
Thanks in advance.
I agree with the last answer...I've used that product as well and it was what I was going to reccomend...
Here's a little more help though... ;D

Where can I find brick or natural stone patterned carpeting?
Dec 30, 2006 by Jo Anne G | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
I am trying to find commercial grade carpeting that has been patterned to resemble a real brick walkway or stone walkway/patio. With all the various colored patterns of flowers and symbols on carpeting, I cannot seem to locate anything resembling the look of a natural brick or stone flooring in a carpet.
go to flooring dealer and see if they have the name brand of beaulieu carpet and ask for style block party, or architecture and city block i think it's close to what you're looking for but with out the flowers check it out good luck

Can i use exterior natural stone sealer on my interior stone floor, whats the difference apart from the price?
Oct 12, 2006 by Calum M | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
I wouldn't recommend it.. at least thats what I think.
I suggest you go to a Home Improvement store like HOME DEPOT and ask a flooring specialist in the flooring department, they are specifically trained with this information and they will be able to help you 100% and even get you going in the right direction with what you should and shouldn't use and the best products that you won't have to repair or retouch in years to come.
Just check out home depot, they will be happy to help you there! :o)
Good luck!

what can I use to clean my wet room natural stone floor?
Feb 23, 2009 by Beverley G | Posted in Cleaning & Laundry
Stick w/ the OTC stone cleaners. These are made to clean the stone and not harm the sealers that need to be applied to keep the stone from staining. These cleaners are not that expensive and using vinegar ( acid) and bleaches ( removing the sealer) can harm and some times etch some stone products GL
