Parquet flooring?
Jun 13, 2007 by imicola | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
Is it possible to buy parquet flooring that is already made up into larger tiles (i.e. 1 foot by 1 foot size) rather than buying the very small tiles and then having to have it professionally laid?
If so what are they called, and where can I get them in the UK?

What is the best way to clean parquet flooring. Moving into a house with near perfect parquet flooring but has had carpet tape stuck to it in the past. What would be the best way to remove the residual gum that is on a few of the sections
Lighter fluid works great. Just be sure to wipe it up with water afterwards

Is parquet hardwood flooring not popular or available anymore?
Aug 31, 2007 by Jane | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
I've been looking online to get some replacement pieces for a chestnut colored hardwood floor and I'm not finding any. I've looked at Home depot and Lowe's, which is where I originally bought the flooring a few years ago and they don't have the chestnut color. The color is a pretty common color. I've only been able to find the light colored parquet flooring. The brand I'm looking for is Bruce. I looked on the Bruce website and can't find it there either. Help!
I believe Bruce still has the darker chestnut. It will not be an exact match but your flooring store will be able to order a box for you if it is. Home depot and Lowes won't bother. Try your local flooring store.

How does one repair parquet flooring?
Dec 09, 2007 by capitaldude | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
A small portion of parquet (mosaic) flooring was lifted due to water damage near the kitchen in my apartment. I will be moving out soon and wish to repair the floor to avoid extra billing. What tools does one need? It's about 8 "strips" of wood. Anyone know what Ill need/how do tackle this small job?
put a strong adhesive under the strips and set weight on top of them to push them flush with the floor

How to remove parquet flooring?
Apr 22, 2007 by Carolyn J | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
Is there an easy way to take up parquet flooring?
Probably not. Most parquet is peel-and-stick, if not it is glue-down. Count on the subfloor being damaged in the process--but that's OK because you'll want to put down a new underlayment anyway.
