Is marble flooring usually covered with linoleum?
May 11, 2008 by Dami F'sho Is BACK | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I just bought my mom a Scooba for Mother's Day...and it says it works on wood, carpet, tile, vinyl, and linoleum.
Our house has only marble flooring...Is marble considered linoleum?
it should work.

It should work fine. I think they are referring to the type of surface, smooth(linoleum), semi-smooth(tile) and rough(carpet).

Marble is not linoleum. If it is a level, smooth surface, it should be able to work. Lino is "Made of natural ingredients that include linseed oil, cork, limestone, wood flour and tree resins. The color goes all the way through, making it extremely wearable and durable." Marble is a stone.

What does it mean when new marble flooring cracks? Should I be weary?
May 11, 2007 by asiabunny | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
I've just recently moved into a new apartment my father has renovated. The contractor says the cracks on the marble flooring is just part of its design but its very obvious it isnt.
Do marble flooring always crack? or should I be afraid of it?
Id call in another contrator or ask your dad if you didnt already. I think your floor is unlevel or not enough support. Marble shouldnt crack and if there is a type thats suppose to crack than its news to me and you shouldve been told this before money was spent on it cuz not everyone would appriciate the value of cracks in marble. You may be able to put a lawsuit on the contractor for sayin that if hes wrong.

Does marble flooring create a safety hazard in a bathroom? Any evidence that says it is safe for use?
Feb 01, 2006 by xxnoogaxx | Posted in Other - Business & Finance
I'm working on a legal case involving a person falling in a bathroom. I need information regarding the safety of marble flooring in a bathroom.
Is it safe to walk on? The ADA requires floors be slip resistant and what not and I would like to know if marble floor would meet those requirements without any special treatment.
Safe for what use? Last time I looked floors were meant to be strong and durable.
You could carpet your bathroom and then it would be hard to slip and fall. But then your carpet would probably get moldy after a couple of years.

Update: Wow I learned something here! There actually is an ADA recommendation on slip resistance and it appears as though polished marble would probably not meet the standard.
The ADA recommendations are either a standard coeficient of Friction of 0.5 or 0.6 and while sandblasted marble would meet this standard, it is possible that polished marble would not.
A good resource is shown below..

My female cat recently went into heat and sprayed our new marble kitchen floor. She is getting spayed as we speak but i need to know thebest way to clean this mess! The marbleseems to comeclean but is shadowed. The grout seems to be stained. Help!
The best thing I have used is a product called Nature's Miracle. I moved into a completely smelly apartment with wood floors and this stuff made the odor disappear - use liberally!!!
