Pine flooring : is there something I can put other then wood filler?
Apr 10, 2007 by Rhonda W | Posted in Decorating & Remodeling
in a tongue and groove pine wood floor to fill the random spaces that will hold up and not pop out with the movement of walking on it?
Do it properly, get a floor clamp, and start pulling them up tight again. They will be well seasoned by now, so you should not have to worry about it happening again.
Unfortunately this is not an easy fix, and will take some carpentry skills, time and hard work.

How much should one charge to sand and refinish 50 sq ft of old pine flooring?
Jan 03, 2007 by Irishking | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
The old flooring is in good shape and has little if
any existing finish. The space is tight and has
a fair amount of 'detailing'.
You could call a few local contractors and ask for a quick over the phone quotation per 50 or per each square foot, and how much they charge per travel time. Good luck.

What is the best and safest (low voc)polyurethane recommended for finishing soft pine flooring?
Apr 29, 2008 by avashea | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
are u sure you want to urethane the floor?? hope you have a place to stay while it drys gonna take days depending on the climate of yur house and yur gonna need plenty of ventalation or yur gonna get loaded from the fumes!!! there are many differ ways to finish hadwood floors and soft wood floors like formby's leamon oil treatment , it cleans and brings back the woood's natural oil and grain, linsead oil does pretty much the same but it works on floors that already have a finish on it like laquer that is dull. go to a hardwood floor center and get some advice let them know exactly what yur floor's appearence is and get you some pro advice i really don't think urtethane is the rite thing to do if you do not apply it correctly you will have what we call in the finishing trade ( fish eyes) those are little bubbles every where, the only way to deal with that is get on yur hands and knees grab a piece of steal wool and start rubbing and buffing till there gone. i have a cabnet shop and get alot of bad finish choices to re-do and alot of question like what you asking about. sometimes a really good buffing with a floor machine and waxing can give you amazing results
did you strip the floors finish?? if so get you still need to get some advise from the pros
REMEMBER FINISHING PRODUCTS ARE VERY TOXIC WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW CAN RESULT IN ALOT OF SERIOUS PROBLEMS LIKE LUNGS, BRAIN, HELL JUST ABOUT EVERY INTERNAL ORGAN
NOT TRYING TO SCARE YOU, YES I AM BECAUSE YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES CAN BE
IF YOU GO INTO THIS PROJECT BLIND!!!!!
JUST CONCERNED
