Does anyone know accent lighting laws for a motorcycle?

I live in MD and I want to make my bike more visible at night with some accent lighting. does anyone know any laws or restrictions that exists? is accent lighting even legal?

There's a set number of minimum lights that DOT requires for motorcycles, past that you can put as many on as you want, but they all have to work! They're usually not too fussy about this, though. As mentioned above, make them amber or red and you shouldn't have any trouble. I know that red lights shouldn't be facing forward. I've seen bikes with those underbelly neon light tubes and haven't heard of any trouble from the boys. I've been warned by a cop (obviously having a bad day) when i rode my GoldWing and didn't have the 50 or so auxiliary lights turned on with the regular lights.

How would i install these neon accent lighting?

i have an '07 VW Rabbit, is it pretty much straight-forward, or is it more involved. I have no experience with this type of stuff.
Usually you stick them in the gaps around the dash/trim etc, superglue if you want it to be more permanent, try not to use much in case you change your mind some day about it. As far as wiring they ussually come with a lighter socket plug in, but you can always cut that off and wire them to a switch and from the switch to any 12v power source in the car. If you have any open fuse locations in the fuse box you can get a fuse tap from radio shack and it'll be the easiest way aside from just plugging them in.
