I am remodeling my home and would like to use led lighting in as many places as possible but it seems like the only led lighting available at this time is just accent lighting.Does anyone know of a website that has LED lighting for the home as a main source?
I know its expensive but do you know where i can get exact pricing?What kind of bulbs do power compact lighting use?
you are honestly going to be paying a ton of money for leds. while leds are extremely effiecient they havent caught on enough in the market to be affordable. power compact lighting is what i would choose they're efficient, affordable, and dont give off to much heat.
i'm talking about the bulbs that you turn on and they have to warm up till they get their full color. the normal incandescent replacements are usually the screw shape. they are self ballasted.

LED lighting uses much less electricity than normal lighting, doesn't it? So, why isn't it used instead of conventional lighting?

I am growing some herbal plants that require a delicate balance of lights and nutrients. Unfortunately it's not always sunny where I from, so I grow indoors. I setup a LED blue/red 255 tiny light system 12x12 inch over the small flat of rosemary/chives...etc. How close should it be and will it be effective? I want first hand experience.
I start my plants (herbs, vegetables, etc.) every year in the house using plant lights, this year I switched to the "daylight" bulbs instead of the more pricey "plant and aquarium" bulbs, and they seem to be working just fine. The LED lighting won't work. I set my lamps about 8 inches above my seedlings and adjust as they grow.
