Just bought a new home and looking to buy modern lighting in all the rooms, where are the best places to go?

I've been to John Lewis and House of Fraser, they both have some great lighting and I was able to purchase a nice bedroom light fitting. I'm still struggling for the lounge, hallway and landing lighting, what shops do people recommend?

I think it will still depend on multiple things. If your ceiling is too low, hanging pendant lighting may not be the way to go. Also, you will not be able to redirect the light for a pendant light so I would use it if I am lighting a countertop or something similar, but not to light up a whole room.

Seriously, the amount of benefit depends on how modern and how prevalent. There has been a trend in offices toward more uniform and brighter light. I think the brighter part is fatiguing and wasteful. And the eye needs some contrasting areas in the field of view, so uniformity is a questionable goal too. A few quite modern buildings have used more sophistication than "brighter, blander". The most comfortable spaces have a mix of light and dark areas without painful or fatiguing intensity, and often bring in sky light. Museums seem to know about this, but most offices follow different rules, perhaps based on what's most "productive".

Maybe u can go to SSF or Macy in Serdang or otherwise u may go to the lighting store or shop near your house. There are maybe various options for u to choose.

Stunning!
If you are looking for a modern/contemporary look this light is it! It really looks better than this picture as the white bands at the top and bottom are not as pronounced as shown in the picture. As you I have been searching for this style but the cost in most cases is $350 +.
I rated this a 4star as the only thing I don't like is that the diffuser is not tight to the shade ...but for the price and the look I am going to live with it!

Great light!
I love it! I'd shopped retail stores for this light and simply couldn't find it. I was skeptical to buy online without seeing it in person. I was pleasantly surprised! I'm very happy with the quality, especially for the price. I was on the fence about getting the beige because I thought it would be too dark. It's perfect! I think the white would be great if you are looking for a very stark look, but for my house the off-white of the beige works well. Still light enough. I hope this helps!

Great Modern looking light
Great light for the price. Install was pretty straight forward, no issues at all. Leveling the shade and the diffuser proved to be a bit difficult, but the end result looks fantastic. Tastefully modern, but not too edgy.

Great product
We are very happy with this pendant light. It is great on a dimmer, and the diffuser that is included is perfect. Make sure when shopping for a light like this it has a diffuser, it makes the lighting so pleasant. We have this light over our dining table. We have an informal dining set, and the table seats 6 comfortably if you are looking for a sense of scale. I actually used a paper shopping bag to create a template of the light before purchasing to see what the scale would look like. My husband has done a lot of electrical and was very pleased with the quality of the light and the wiring. Once we paint the walls in the room I may enhance the shade with some simple colored ribbon for the trim, but only because I love color. You can't go wrong with this light.

Super Lighting for a NY apartment
I bought this lamp for my son who has just finished college and taken a job in NYC. His bedroom has no overhead lighting and after reading other reviews on this item I took a chance on it. He LOVES it! In fact, he wants a table lamp to match.
Best Lamp Ever! The Switch is a Must!!
I had spent so muc time looking for a nice lamp, that would fit with any decor not too tall or short, and specially that came with all its parts. My last experience with a floor lamp wan't the best, and this one just floored me, the switch is the best feauture. I wish more lamps came like this!!! Most lamp's switches are small and annoying to your hands, but this one is just so comfortable and not to mention that the quality is amazing!!

Quality modern lamp that is reasonably priced!
So happy to have this reasonably priced, quality lamp. I was looking for a simple, elegant and modern lamp with this specific type of clean circular lampshade but other stores were at least $100-200. Weren't sure by purchasing it just by the picture at first. With this price, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Good sturdy base and very nice detail with the on and off switch. Highly recommended. And very well packed for shipping too.
