is it wrong to have a brushed nickel kitchen faucet while having oil rubbed bronze pendant lighting?

Trying to match the dacor of a new home. Should the bathroom and kitchen fixtures match the finishes of the door knobs and/or lighting or can you mix and match. We are looking into having brushed nickel fixtures and door knobs while having oil rubbed bronze pendant lighting and wall sconces.
Separate rooms in a home do not have to match and you can play with the fixtures within rooms. They just need to be within the same family of styles. For instance if you are choosing a contemporary look, you would not want to choose a victorian style regardless of the finish. We have stainless kitchen appliances, brushed nickel knobs, handles, and faucets, but deep bronzed drops over the island and chandelier over the breakfast area. Your bathrooms definitely don't have to match your kitchen choices so have some fun.

yes, but because they focus the light down to a spot, and generally take up little space, you would need several pendants to provide enough light and look pleasing

i have the old style track that the lamp just attach to the track, and can be moved back and forth, the plain style ones. I was hoping to take of those lamps and replace with a more up to date styled lamps. any ideas..
See if you can find out who the manufacturer is.
It might be stamped on an end cap, or under the cover thats over the wiring connections.
Then go to their website, I'm sure you'll be able to find new track heads to fit.
Progress, Lightolier, Hubbell, Juno,Halo, Lithonia,Prescolite are some manufacturers.

Perfect for accent lighting
These are very nice and well worth it. Mush less than from the lighting store and the same thing. They are very nice, but are good for accent lighting as they dont throw off a great deal of light.

Works great iin my kitchen
My kitchen is quite long and I was looking for a fixture with a couple of lights in a row. I found this on Amazon and ordered it. I've had it installed. It looks good, and works great. I have a lot of light. I'd highly recommend it.

You get what you pay for
We bought 2 of these pendant lights to replace the tacky brass fixtures that came with our house. We are very happy with the new look at such a good price. The reason I did not give these fixtures 5-stars is because of the quality.
One of the lights did not have the correct threads in the base where it attaches to the ceiling so I had to modify it to get it mounted. The other one was fine from the factory. It is also worth noting that the straight sections do not match up very well because of the way they are connected, so this makes them visibly crooked. We tried every combination of the extension sections just to make sure, but they all did the same thing. It is crooked enough that it bothers me (since I was up close during the install), but not so bad that other people would really notice at normal viewing distance (Vaulted ceiling mount). You will not have any problems if you only use one extension section, it is where the sections meet that causes the angle.
The color is actually just a dark grey with a sloppy application of copper color around the part above the shade. This is probably one of the ways they keep the cost down. The more expensive fixtures at Lowes have a more detailed finish applied. We bought the grey hammer finish Krylon spray paint to use on our other ceiling mounted fixtures and they are a near perfect match to these pendant lights. I would definately buy again because of the price and considering the low quality fixtures I am replacing anyway...Anything is an improvement!

Nice looking light
I installed two of these lights to replace some dated fixtures. The neutral style allows them to fit in easily to my decor. The design allows you to use none to three extensions, so the drop height is adjustable. I used one, which was perfect in my installation location. Installation was easy, although the instructions were not complete clear.

Really Great look
I really like these pendant lights, in the description it doesn't tell you if you have to use them at 47-1/4 inch but we took a gamble hoping that you wouldn't and they come in 3 sections so they can be made shorter. We use them above an island counter in the kitchen and if they were 47-1/4 they would almost touch the counter (we have 8 foot ceilings). We left out a pole on both of them and the look beautiful!! We bought all of the hardware house oil rubbed bronze items to match we love them so much!!

Wouldn't buy again
This comes with three 12" rods. Many other pendants come with 12", 8" and 6"rods, which allows you to adjust the height. I looked and couldn't even find an option to buy different lengths. I ordered two and one of them came with defective threads and couldn't be hung. I haven't gotten around to returning it, but Amazon is usually very good about that. The light itself--the one that is hanging--looks good.
