Drives all staples too deep
This stapler drove all staples under the surface. The depth adjuster is not designed correctly and will not hold the stapler far enough away from the material. If you always want to drive 1/16th under the surface, this is a good stapler. But, if you want to drive just flush or just to the surface, you will have to put a spacer under the foot. I tried another Hitachi, and it had the same defect. I bought the Porter Cable and it works flawlessly. Amazon refunded all of my money including return shipping. I find it very rare to get a better deal than Amazon anywhere on the 'net.
First Time User
This is my first pneumatic staple gun. (should have bought on a long time ago) I bought it to do a flooring project in my home. When the gun arrived I thought I would try it out on some scrap flooring before I did the real thing as I had not used a stapler before. Setting the compressor at 80lbs the staples were driven to deep as per the instruction manual. I tried to adjust the depth with the depth adjustment knob but it would not turn. I could control the staple depth by adjusting the compressor, what a pain. I had to lay the flooring the next day so I didn't have the option to send the stapler back for a no-hassle exchange (great Amazon feature). I made the fix on the stapler myself and got the depth knob freed up and am able to set the staple depth as needed. I did my flooring project and several other smaller projects without a misfire. The stapler is light and very easy to handle. Could hold more staples. Noise wise, any air tool makes noise. Would I recommend this stapler, yes. Just my luck to get this one. Maybe Hitachi needs to have better quality control?? Could have been an easy five star review.

These Staples Hold Much, Much Better Than Nails
These narrow crown staples are wonderful. They deform when they go in. That's why they hold so very well. Plus, they do not split your workpiece. PLUS, they are very inexpensive per each. I even used them to fasten cedar to cedar -- which doesn't always like nails.
This Hitachi stapler itself is everything the other reviewers say it is -- except that there is actually a little room in the case for enough staples to do a small job. Much nicer to use than the old stapler I wore out.
When you buy it, you might consider getting a selection of different length staples.

Good gun
This is an all around good gun. Not the best of the best but it does a great job. I own a few others of diff brands but this one is the loudest. It does not have a belt hook but easily added on. Nice and light.

Product Description
For such a delicate gun, this one really gets the job done. It's just a bit more than 4 pounds, but it feels even lighter than that in involvement because, we assume, of Hitachi's famous design and engineering. Equipped with a acquaintance trip mechanism, it fires as fast as you can go, but you can pick up the elective sequential trigger if you need it. The magazine holds a husky 150 staples, and that means less downtime for reloading. We like the widely known magazine design, because you can see at just a glance if you're operation low on fasteners. Not that we've ever fired blanks...
We couldn't get this gun to jam, but the clearing answer is fast and simple: Just release the command latch, open the blade guide, untenanted the jam with a screwdriver and close the latch. Done. There's a nice decent depth-of-drive adjustment, but it isn't tool-unused, so users may prefer controlling that with air pressure. It's a hardworking, get under someone's skin-free, rugged gun that will last for years.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Crown stapler
I am a bit concerned about the operation at start-up. It takes a dozen or so staples to get it to working correctly. It will not set the staple until you waste a dozen or so to "warm up" the gun.

Hitachi Wins Hands Down
I'm a redwood/cedar fencing contractor. I've tried many brands of nail guns - Senco, Porter Cable and others, only to have them go belly up and face a repair bill which is greater than the cost of the original gun. Several years ago I switched to Hitachi framers and (15 gauge) finish nailers and have never had a single breakdown - and they're used day in and day out. Recently I contacted to build a 300+ foot wire fence. Not wanting to hand hammer 4 to 5 thousand staples, I bought a Hitachi N5008AC Stapler. It was superb! Not a single glitch in that many firings. I highly recommend this stapler.

Hitachi Stapler
A very solid staple gun. So far I have shot almost 10,100 staples through it without a jam. Depth adjustment is decent. haven't used that to much so far. I turn my compressor down or up according to application anyway. If you are using kiln dried white cedar shingles you don't want to be hitting them with 110 psi even if the depth is set, get me? I have also used this tool for Sheetrock strapping using 2" staples, but primarily cedar shingle siding. A great multipurpose and light gun.

Great Light Weight, but Heavy Duty Stapler
This is a very light weight gun, but really seems to gets the job done. The weight is just over 4lbs, and very easy to use all day long with wearing your arm out. It has a rubberized grip that is easy on the hands and provides a great no slip surface. It is balance well and easy to use on both vertical and horizontal applications. The magazine design is open and lets you see how many staples you have loaded at a glance, and can hold a lot of staples for fewer reloads. The quick jam release works easily, though I have yet to have this stapler jam to try it in action. It can use a larger variety of staple sizes (3/4 to 2 inch) than most similar guns, making it a very versatile tool. It has no problems at all driving a 2 inch staple all the way at 85 PSI. The contact bump firing responds very fast and will flawlessly fire staples as fast as you can go.
There are a few down sides to this gun to consider, but in my opinion they are fairly minor. This gun has to be "warmed up". At the beginning of use it has to be free fired for about 30 second before it will actually drive staples. The manual says to do this in cold weather situations, but it still seems to need it on an 80 degree day. The depth adjustment is not tool free, and the little hex wrench that comes with the gun is a flimsy little throw away. The screw for the depth adjustment was so tight out of the box that the wrench stripped and rounded all the corners before the screw budged. It's quicker and easier to adjust the air pressure to the gun, so not a big deal for me. Lastly, it does not come with a case, oil, sequential trigger kit, or any of the included extras that seem to be the industry standard. You get the gun, the manuals and paperwork, a worthless hex wrench and a pair of safety glasses in a cardboard box.
Over all this is a very high quality gun, and even though it has a few flaws I would recommend it without hesitation. After shooting over 10,000 staples, I have had no real issues (beyond figuring out the "warm up" problem), and truly enjoy using this stapler.
