Why do they make both 7/16 and 1/2 inch pneumatic staplers?
Nov 25, 2008 by lance d | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Seems like these two sizes are almost the same. Why have both available?
Some times the staples are used on material that is only a 1/2 inch thick and the staples come through the other side. This gives you the option of using one that doesn't show

where can i buy sf21 staples for senco pneumatic stapler lns156p?
May 20, 2006 by Richard L | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
Bought this stapler from a hardware shop in france, unable to find ref to staples anywhere on the net.
I do not where you live, but in KS. the cheapest place to go is JS supply,a contractors supply store that also sells to open public. So I guess I'm saying a contractors supply store that sells to the public. All hardware stores will special order anything, but WOW do you pay for it! Also a commercial lumber yard will order them for you, still the cheapest is a supply shop.

How does a pneumatic tap cap stapler work?
Apr 14, 2009 by crazytrain565 | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
Do you have to hit it with a mallet or does it work alone?
If you are talking about a floor nailer to install hardwood flooring, you bump it with a mallet.
Much less work than using a manual nailer.
There is also a Button-Kap nailer for installing roofing felt caps, you just pull the trigger on that.

benefits of pneumatic tools?
May 06, 2007 by Jason W | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
I have used a pneumatic nailer and staplers on previous projects. I noticed there are quite a few different pneumatic tools out there to use. I am wondering why you would use pneumatic over electric tools. Thank you for your time!
I prefer them because they feed off a single source--an air compressor. They interchange quickly so I don't have to unplug the cord, drop the extension cord, pick it up, plug in again, etc. like you do with electric tools. Also, better electric tools have heavier motors to produce torque; but a good Aro screwdriver has plenty of torque at only 90 psi. The down side to air is that you have to have at least a 7hp unit to run sanders or other high CFM (cubic feet per minute) tools. But if I could only choose electric or pneumatic, it would be pneumatic in a heartbeat.

What sizes of staples can a Central Pneumatic 18 Gauge 2-in-1 Nailer Stapler Gun use?

It shoots staples up to 1", brads up to 2". Buy a small box, though. These guns are disposable. Hope this helps

perfect for putting up insulation. will try to use it for putting the fabric on a custom bench seat. good bump fire and few jams. wish it could hold more staples.
BAD DEAL
I BOUGHT 2 OF THESE STAPLERS. THE ONE BROKE THE FIRST DAY AND THE SECOND ON THE NEXT DAY. THE MANUFACTURER SAID WE DID NOT OIL THEM ENOUGH. I HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR 20 YEARS AND HAVE USED ALL KINDS OF STAPLERS. I NO HOW TO OIL THE GUNS!!! I FEEL THE PRODUCT IS MEDIOCRE AT BEST. I FEEL I HAVE BEEN TAKEN FOR MY MONEY. I GIVE THIS ITEM A ONE STAR ONLY BECUASE AMAZON MADE ME. IN MY EYES ITS A -FOUR STAR
FFAST N' EASY>>>SAVES TIME!
Bought this to complete R-15 insulation with garage walls of 2X4 const, then applied a top layer of black 6 mil plastic to cover same prior to the wall board application...for a two-car garage. Already had my own air compressor with 3/8 inch tubbing. Did consider buying an electric stapler...I am really glad I bought this product, used T50 arrow 1/2 inch staples with approx. 110 psi...WOW it was so easy and fast with this Surebonder 9600! Yes I would recommend you get this product and would suggest the T50 arrow staples that you can probably purchase at your local hardware store. If you get the on-line staples from Amazon...be sure they state for use in the 9600 model as the Surebonder 9610 staples will not work in the Surebonder 9600...to large in size!! Note: This product does come with some oil that you place into the air connect (4-6 drops)of the Surebonder 9600 and I had no jams, unless you hit a steel plate and you can clear jam with some long-nose needle plyer with very little technical effort...what more can I say?
wrong staples
You know where it says "frequently bought with"? And then there's some staples listed? DO NOT ORDER THOSE!! They won't fit. Look closely and get the #4 staples, not the 22 gauge. RRRRR!!! It's not worth the $5 postage to mail $8 staples back...I feel dumb & snookered.

Surebonder 9600 is great
I had a club house to insulate and I was not looking forward to the job using my manual stapler. I purchased my 9600 at a very inexpensive price and hoped that it would save my hands. I was very pleased with this gun. It is a very quality tool and I have shot a few thousand staples and it has yet to misfire or clog. I would recommend this pneumatic stapler to anyone wanting at quality stapler that uses standard Arrow #50 staples. I comes in a very sturday plastic case and a small bottle of oil to lubricate it.

Jammed
This worked well until it jammed which unfortunately was only after about 300 staples. The gun itself was easy to load and the indicator window on the side was nice. I completely disassembled the gun but where the staple is lodged is not in a place that can be removed. I took a chance on this product from the good reviews, even after seeing the complaints about jamming. I wouldn't recommend this product.
Re-Upholstered Motorcycle Seat
Worked great, used to re-upholster my motorcycle seat. I could not to hardware store types to work.

excellent value
I just got my Surebonder a couple of days ago. I put about 1000 3/8 Surebonder staples through it today, without a single problem. I'll put another 1000 through it tomorrow, getting done what I need to get done. What more could you ask for in a tool, especially one priced like this one, far below the nearest competition? The Surebonder even came with a quick release installed and a small bottle of oil. I don't think that my Dewalt brad nailer had those things. I know that I had to buy a quick release to put on the Dewalt, just so I could use the gun. Surebonder certainly betters Dewalt in that area.
The bottom line is that this seems to be a pretty nice little light duty staple gun. If you only need 5/8 or smaller staples and don't need to shoot thousands of them every week, this gun is probably just what you need. I know that it will happily reside on the shelf next to my Hitachi, Dewalt and Ridgid nail guns, because this seems to be all the stapler that I need. That assumes, of course, that it won't quit working tomorrow. :-)

Junk!
Worked great for the first 200 staples, then started to jam every 50 staples, then started to jam every 5 or 6 staples. these were not simple jams the unit had to be completely torn apart. The staples that were used were the surebonder staples.
you will love this staple gun!!!
this is my first air powered tool. it works great. i used it with surebonder's staples and Campbell Hausfeld FP2028 1-Gallon Oil-Free Pancake Air Compressor. i am completing my fourth chair today and have used 5000 staples with no problems. it made this project sooo easy. it staples through layers and layers of heavy thick upholstery fabric and wood at only 60 psi and doesn't stop shooting until it drops to 40 psi. every staple seems to just go in so perfectly that i can barely see them afterward. i'm so glad i didn't spend on the more expensive gun that had all the good reviews. this one is a champ. i don't know how it works for anything other than wood and upholstery.
a couple quick notes if you hate instructions or are a newbee to tools like i am (also to correct an earlier reviewer's very bad info);
- the staples go in upside down, pointing away from gun.
- it works great with surebonder's 300 series staples. i haven't tried other brands.
- if your compressor doesn't use oil then you must put a few drops of oil in gun at the air connection (this is the little bump at the tail of the gun). do this every 4th or 5th time that you load a row of staples and at end of each work day. don't forget to do it but don't over do it or your air hose will get blocked and need to be wiped out.
- if your compressor hose will not connect to the gun, you'll need to go to hardware store and get a $2 quick connect. i thinks it's called a "male" quick connect. i just took the hose and gun to home depot and asked them which quick connect to buy.
- there is an air exhaust knob on back of the gun that you will want to point toward our hand. it doesn't spray oil all over the place or anything like that but after a few hours of stapling, you will notice your thumb gets a little oily. it most certainly does not come out on the staples as someone said in a review, he totally put the oil in the wrong place.
- the gun will not work unless you press it against something. it has a saftey on the nose of the gun for people like me that load the staples with gun pointing their face.

The Stapler worked great, only had to hit down on the trigger once with the hammer that came with it. Used 2" long Bostitch staples every 8 to 12 inches and it made the job easy.

Wicked Reliable
I have had mine for about seven years and it has never given me any trouble. These things have a lot of power and really get the boards together nice and tight. Another nice thing is that the staples are available at Home Depot etc. I have put in countless floors and even lent it out several times and it still works great. I am about to purchase a second one and can't wait to try it with the prefinished floor foot that it now comes with. Tip: You usually use these in combination with a finish nailer (for the starting and ending rows). You can blind nail with the finish nailer. I usually take the rubber tip off to get in close. I use a Hitachi 15 gauge angled finish nailer and when I get too close to the far wall for the Hitachi I switch to a smaller straight 16 gauge finish nailer. I also keep an 18 gauge finish nailer handy for when a board is ripped down to where I am worried about splitting it (face nailing it). Good luck.
A good deal on flooring stapler
I was familiar with this tool and was happy to find a good deal on a reconditioned one. It has served flawlessly for two thousand square feet of cherry flooring, and I anticipate selling it locally for what I paid when I'm done with this project. Excellent service on the sale as well. No complaints whatsoever.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000224PN/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title
contractor grade
This is the real thing, what the professional hardwood installers use. Easy to use with an air compressor unit. Got it at a great price from amazon, compared to Home Depot and Lowes. Used it to finish my Study and now plan to do the rest of first level floors and the stairs. I recommend this model (stapler) compared to the floor nailer.
Excellent
Just ordered this stapler and used it on 300sf. Great product. Not a single misfire.

Excellent, but use the correct staples
Mine has seen heavy use for over fifteen years now. It's an excellent tool, made in Taiwan - not China. I'm a little bummed that 1/4" staples for it were recently discontinued.
I also couldn't help noticing that, according to Amazon, most people who bought this stapler also bought the wrong size staples.
It takes 1/2" crown, 20 gauge.

Two Problems
I have one of these bought from HF.
There is no safety interlock. That is, it will shoot staples even if the nose piece is not against the work. Be careful. Easy to accidentally shoot staples if you are wearing gloves or working in tight quarters.
Second problem is there is no depth adjustment. This is not usually a problem with 1/2" crown staples. But, if you are stapling old insulation bats, the staple will rip through the paper (brittle) before it pulls the paper down to the wood. You have to adjust the pressure down quite a bit to avoid this. Easiest to do if you also mount a local pressure regulator on the stapler.
